Bill Polian has some extremely high praise for Pierre:

"I said when we drafted Pierre – when no one knew his name or necessarily cared who he was – that he reminded me a little of (former Buffalo Bills wide receiver) Andre Reed. I hope his career lasts as long, and I hope he goes to the Hall of Fame, as Andre deserves to. No one would ever think that lightning would strike twice, but certainly I think he's going to have a good NFL career."

Andre Reed must have been pretty arrogant ;D

OAC folks...

Anyone headed to the 'Berg/ONU game in Ada on Saturday?  reality check is coming to the area and we are headed up to see the game.  Even though the records aren't great here, I expect a great game .... since I played for each of the Head Coaches... I know they are excited to play one another.

If anyone else is headed that way, shoot me a PM... rc has some sort of "red carpet treatment" lined up, but I'm sure we can say hi at some point.

Next on the list is OTT/MUC...

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I met Reed at a celebrity golf outing (I was not a celeb, thanks for asking) toward the end of his career.  While he was a bit cocky, which is to be expected, he did not seem arrogant and was great with the kids.  I was surprised by his size, built more like a linebacker.  It will be awesome if PG gets to play in a few Super Bowls and ends up with career numbers similar to Reed's.

Sarcasm doesn't always translate.  Our red carpet treatment means we have tickets waiting for us and we'll have a chance to talk to DP after the game.  That's all the pull I will ever have.  I might be able to get a picture of you and Klondike though for the right price.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

That's double the sarcasm.. I was told if we sit in the lowest of the rows, we will have the best view of the action.  I will be buying a ONU shirt though, so I don't get beat up.

Thanks for the link ... very interesting.

Polian was the person who hired Dom Capers, wasn't he?
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

That's correct. He hired Capers away from Pittsburgh, where he was defensive coordinator, to be Carolina's first head coach.

Did anybody catch Tony Dungy's remark about Pierre between games last Sunday? He was kind of knocking PG back to earth a little. It was something to the effect of "Pierre thinks he's a star, but he forgets who he's playing with." Very true that many people would look great with Peyton throwing to them as well as having 3 or 4 other threats running patterns. Star or not he could be on his way to a really big ring soon

I just think it's the old coach in Tony and what he'd be reminding PG if he was still in Indy.

Wow, who ever thought my karma would get above -35  ;D

Anybody considering the Wooster game this week? I'm committed to Kev's last regular season game tomorrow at 2:30. If they beat Barberton again, they'll be 8-0 and get a bye next week so I can see a whole Mount game, not that I didn't love the second half of the Musky game but the more successful they are the less UMU games I get to this year

I'm not sure if I'm offended by that remark or not. ;)
