Where is a good place to drink and eat after the game?

I'd recommend Pizzazz, which is right on North Park near JCU's main entrance.

Beyond that, there are a number of other places near campus, but it depends on how far you're willing to drive.

Pizzazz is basically right on campus, but I much prefer Brennan's Colony, 2 miles away at Silsby and Lee.  Great food (and everything from reasonable bar food to high quality full meals on the specials menu, all of it excellent) and a nice neighborhood bar atmosphere.

This couldn't possibly be the case, or maybe it was at some point, but not anymore.  Hiram is a Tier 3 liberal arts school, and up until a year or two ago, Wittenberg was, as well.

I meant to mention that, but I guess I left it out.  I don't know...maybe they were "grandfathered" in or maybe they fooled them since they refer to themselves as the "Harvard of the Midwest" :) (along with about 20 other schools).

I think they're the most recent school to join the NCAC.  I probably shouldn't say this, but what the hey:  If the NCAC is willing to accept Hiram and has no problem with their level of academic prestige (or lack thereof), then I don't think they have much of a leg to stand on when using academics as an argument for potentially denying JCU membership.

You folks have GOT to work on your pretensions!  In Ann Arbor, they refer to Harvard as "the Michigan of the East"! ;D

Not a bad recommendation.  If they're heading over to that area, there are a number of decent bar/grille types of establishments to choose from.

Yes, I've seen the t-shirt.  Pretty funny and creative.

Yes pretty much all of Lee Rd from Cedar to Meadowbrook is a good place to find places to eat...anything from bar/grilles to expensive restaurants.  And if the missus makes the trip up, might as well keep her happy and make a date night out of it with an indie film at the Cedar Lee.  You can't go wrong with a movie theater that serves beer and liquor.

I don't know if it's a make-or-break rule, but all of the schools in the NCAC (including Hiram) have Phi Beta Kappa chapters. JCU doesn't, which may be a precluding factor in the eyes of the powers that be.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

I grew up on the "Heights" passing as jewish, because the catholic girls were no fun. Lots of interesting food in the Cedar-Lee area. Maybe not so much on Saturday before sundown. The Jews moved to Beachwood.

Going to watch my boy Ryan Brodie for JC. He's got 4 rushes and 4 tackles. Maybe Regis needs to define his position on the team better. Hopefully catchup with my favorite cross country runner from Mogadore a few years back

we scrimmaged Hiram while I was at Otterbein a couple times. It was a joke. They never were even close to competitive.

I got Len's message wrong, it's next week's JV Waynesburg game that's off and replaced with another game. I'll checkFacebook and see what he sent.

First thing that you stop caring about when you retire is what today's date is since it really doesn't matter.

Waynesburg Cancelled- Replaced with Washington and Jefferson on Sunday 11/1 AT W&J at 2:00

MUC JV's beat Ashland last night in a game that featured lots of "O" and very little "D" except for MUC's D-line.

reality check

We had equipment check-in yesterday and the season is officially over here in AZ.  I can't believe how fast they come and go.  It was a rough season but our kids came a long way when it comes to football IQ.  I'm hoping that in my return trip to Ohio for Thanksgiving that I have some football to watch.  I'd be back for round 2 of the playoffs or the HS championship games.  I'll have to keep my fingers crossed that I get to see someone that matters to me in those games.  No offense to MUC.
