If Cap beats ONU, then that is a good win for them, with ONU having beaten NCC.  The interesting question here is if ONU beats Cap and finishes 8-2 with a win over NCC- who looks like it will be the AQ from the CCIW- will they get in?  They lost to MUC by 20, but to OTT only by 2.

I agree with you.  PLease see this quote from my earlier post...

No that quote came from a CAP fan who goes by "JK" and clearly based on your avatar, you're from the other side of town.

In my less than humble opinion, if the OAC was to get a 3rd qualifier it would be more likely if it was Ohio Northern that finished 8-2.  They would enter selection weekend on a 7 game winning streak and would have already beaten the winner of another very strong conference.    Whereas Capital's best claim to fame is leading MUC in the 4th.  Both ONU and Capital barely lost to Otterbein so consider that a push.

I think Capital is a better team than ONU and would be more likely to win a couple playoff games than the Bears, but I have to believe that ONU's win over North Central has to count more than Capital's win over Adrian.

I'd love to see a 3rd OAC team make it, but I'm not holding my breath.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I co-sign on all of that.  I, too, believe that if (and that's a big if) the OAC is going to get a third bid, it's going to be ONU.  Capital doesn't have that signature win, and even if they beat ONU, I don't think that's as impactful as ONU's win over NCC.

Neither is Capital.

Does anyone find it odd that White-Water is ranked 4th in the west? They are the #2 team in the country.

Dr. Acula

I don't see the rankings.  I thought they came out after this week?

My guess is that Whitewater is #4 in the west because they've only played seven games and the teams above them have eight wins.  Doesn't make much sense, but how scientific is any poll.  My favorite ranking system is the computer system used by the OHSAA.  The poll doesn't come out until each team has played enough games to establish its true identity, it awards "quality" wins over larger schools and devalues wins over patsies.  Wish the NCAA could develop a similar format.  The present computer polls are based at least in part on media or coaches polls.

Dr, Acula,

Aren't you surprized that UWW is listed 4th in the west region? I am!

Why is Ott 7-0, 7-0 in the regionals?  When did they grab the extra conference game?
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

There are 3 possibilities to explain why UWW is ranked 4th in the West:

1.It's early and the committee knows things will change so they ranked them based on straight OWP.
2. The West Regional were all travelling together and were in a car accident, suffered concussions, and they actually think there are 3 teams in the west better than UWW.
3.  Wildcat11 is West region Chair
