How far from Lexington, KY to Crawfordsville, IN???

Unless something significantly changes, I expect to be up there!

Go Cap!  Great win today!

Allow for 4 to 4 1/2 hours, whether you come through Cincinnati or Louisville.

KoHawk--you're an ass.  Negative 27 karma in just nine posts.  Go Away.

Capital - WAY TO REPRESENT!!!  Listened and loved it!  Next week (as I should suggest by now living in the south is...) "Git er done!!!"
My Raiders...  Augie is gonna be tough, but you too can "Git er done!!!"  (Yeah.. I am in Louisiana).  Gonna have to listen in from Waco next Saturday.  Reality Check knows why.
I do not ever call anyone out, but yes, KO-HAWK is an a$$.

i lost the radio feed with 2:45 left in 4th.  glad to see cap hung on.  how did it end?

Capital was able to control the ball until the final minute. They had a nice 4 minute drive to work the clock and force NCC to use their remaining timeouts.

A key play in the final NCC possession was a sack on a 3rd down. NCC did convert on the next play, but the sack chewed up valuable seconds on the clock. NCC then stopped the clock, leaving 4.6 seconds. They tried a short pass to the outside that was incomplete. This may have been fortunate since the clock may have run out. NCC tried a 52 yard FG, which seemed foolish with the wind conditions. And it did come up well short.

Way to go OAC.
Congrats to Cap and Mount and best of luck next week.

Thanks to all who attended either game and posted their comments.  You guys are the only eyes most of us have for the games.  :o

i posted most of my comments on the cciw board.

congrats to capital. they pulled out a win in a great playoff game to watch. these two teams are pretty evenly matched. in the end it was the cap d that made the difference. cap's d held the ncc to just 13 pts off cap's 5 turnovers. (ncc's other score was a 70 yd drive). ncc lost its best offensive player in the first half but overcame to stay in it til the end. if cap can take care of the football their defense can get them a long way.

that was some great football. here's hoping for another close, well fought game in alliance next week.

reality check

Congrats to Mount and Capital for their first round performances.  On to round two...

I had a blast broadcasting the Delaware Valley game today in Doylestown.  It was actually a very good game to watch as a fan of DIII and a great game to broadcast.

Congrats to Capital on the win today.  Better fix teh turnover thing though.

Nice win today by MUC.  I didn't agree with Garcon playing last week at Berg, and I wasn't crazy about seeing him playing (and limping) today against MSJ.  Those were 2 teams that MUC could have beat with me playing WR and 2 more weeks of rest for Garcon's stress fracture.  If he is not healthy for next week, then it's over.

Hope the D-line eats their Wheaties this week.   They're going to need it.

Before we start looking at what Mount shoulda, coulda done today, sit back and be glad that they really came together and played a tough game. Modesty prohibits me from repeating some the stats but anytime you have ten times your opponents net yardage you have done some things right. Yeah, they are from the Heartland Conference, but they had some talent and were well coached. There is nothing but tough games ahead, but I'm not nearly as worried as I was before. Sure glad we discovered a more exciting runner. Now if we could just work on the dumb penalties. Congrats Raiders

PS It appears Augie has discovered the forward pass (6-7 118 yards and a touchdown today) That used to be a full season's passing stats.

Cap-Everybody at Mount is pulling for you, really. We'd rather play you in Alliance than have to drive to Indiana. Please go to C-ville and tell us all about it, but we prefer to stay home
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

seventiesraider,

We do have some tendecies to dust off the forward pass when we get into the playoffs.  Back in 86, we threw for about 120 yards against MUC in the playoffs.  That amounted to ~20% of our passing yardage for the entire season.

Always good to test yourselves against the best.  Augie will get to do that next week against MUC.  Should be a great one.

Cap fans and players,
Great job on pulling out a victory today!  You guys are a tough team and deserved the victory today.  NCC was off a click in the first half and didn't take advantage of turnovers from CU.  Kniss was not himself today and didn't get the job done.  I was VERY impressed with the Capital secondary.  they came to play and made some great plays.  Good luck next week!

I feel the same, the MOunt Defense done a tremendous job against what was a respectable running game today, (Lovell 24yds on 15 carries). Not only did they do well there but the put enough pressure on the QB to disrupt any passing attack. NOt sure how many sacks were recorded but if you add in the hurrieds passes it pretty much wrapped up the MSJ offense for the day.  I would admit the recievers for MSJ were some serious size boys with some decent speed, just never got much of a chance to get in their patterns or for that matter any passes. MUC done enough at times to shoot themselves in the foot but being plagued with some sorry officiating again is really getting annoying. If it wasn't for a number of uncalled holdings MUC would have easily doubled the sack total for the game. though my prediction was 42-0 win the defense did keep MSJ from the end zone, and kept their streak intact!

Good Luck as well next week Cap!! may not have been the most colorful win today with the turnover bit, but the D, as stated in my prediction post, made the difference!

KO-HAWK,

While the players on the field playing their hearts out, you are sittin in the stands, probably where you belong.  I'd say going on an eight hour road trip to a stadium they have never been before, playing a team they've never played before, overcoming turnovers and adversity, and doing what it takes to get to the second round is a pretty good job.  Hey, you did do an amazing job in the stands though im sure. Great job bud.

This is my first post. I first would like to say that this is a great day in Columbus Ohio with the Crusaders hanging on and shortly after the Buckeyes pulling on out.

Now back to the real team in columbus :D

Just got home from Naperville Ill. WOW I was sweating bullits as the field goal fell short. I was really proud of the D and the way they were able to keep us in the game. I think the offense will pull it together at Wabash  and it will be another great game. Wish us luck and maybe another match up with the great MUC

Go Cap!!
