I wish the Cards were healthy too--I was looking forward to a tough game this weekend and was hoping that we would get to have a good challenge before the playoffs--unfortunately, because of the injuries, it doesn't look like that will be the case this weekend.

Me too.  I was really looking forward to another regular season match-up with a team that potentially had the fire power to push Mount before the playoffs.  The Raider team offense is coming together, but I'd feel much beter with another test under Rocco belt before we get to Week 11 and beyond.  There aren't going to be many Wilmingtons and John Carrolls in the playoffs.

:D Some of you Mount guys have a serious hard-on for John Carroll.  :D

Sidebar question.....when is one of those "not serious"??

I find it hard to believe BW's and JCU's coaches have forgotten how to coach or recruit.  I was wondering if the schools Pres. or top brass still give them the support needed to be competitive in the OAC?

Looking forward to a great game in Bexley tomorrow.

I am closer to the B-W situation than JCU, but I here there are some
rumblings at B-W. Not sure if the JCU administration cares one way
or the other.

The Cap/ONU game should be a good close game and the winner
is likely in the playoffs. Regarding the outcome, the predictions
are about even with a slight edge to the home team.

Planning to be in town for the game tomorrow, any pre-game activities besides the outstanding buffet.

Ric and HS Coach, hope to stop in and see you guys too! As a visiting dignitary from a far away land I would be glad to sit in for insight on the broadcast. LOL!

Seventies, skunks and side kick, where are you going to be hanging out?

See you tomorrow.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

RC and Suit,

Regarding LK:

Having LK on the sidelines is a HUGE benefit when MUC takes the field. My reference simply meant that him being the winningest coach ever doesn't help MUC on a given Saturday. Without a doubt, all the things that MAKE HIM the winningest coach ever helps MUC greatly. Just wanted to clarify.

Suit,
MUC lost 4 games while you were there? Were you on the 6 year plan or what?  ;D

Maybe he was there before Mount Union became MOUNT UNION. ;)

no no.  i took the 5 year, victory lap, route.  Probably would have been an easy 4 years at a public school.  I tried to remember the losses by memory, but its not so easy.

on the JCU issue, here's my take.

JCU and MUC were the perfect match in terms of rivals.  In the late 90's and early 00's, i.e. the 99 epic, JCU was like a perfect 10 girlfriend for Mount.  Then she (JCU) stayed hot for a while,  she (JCU) was hot until 2004, when she put on a ton of weight.    After Mount decided to move on, she (JCU) noticed a couple of new ladies hanging around (ONU and Cap) and slimmed down and tryed to win Mount back in 06 but failed. The bottom fell out, and now she (JCU) is drunk and sloppy, hanging out in the KFC parking lot telling anyone who listens about her glory days as the program that pushed Mount.

Hope that makes sense, in a Springer sort of way.

That's hilarious.  I just about spewed my Mt. Dew all over my computer.

Well done!

You wouldn't be referring to the infamous "Flaming Pile" as we "outsiders" understand it, would you? ???  One week to go and you head to the Bridge Bowl.

Hey SF......Cincy ended up being a one day, crappy long drive trip.  Maybe we will see you in the play-offs.

Come on up......you are always welcome.

Baldwin-Wallace hasn't truly been relevant on the national scene for several decades, I believe.  John Carroll had a nice run of about a decade, including a few instances where they gave Mount Union a scare, and one very impressive playoff run, but beyond that, what have the Streaks done on the national stage?  I want to see JCU compete in football again, but in the OAC, what does that even mean anymore?  Playing second fiddle to Mount Union?  That's what it's become, and I don't see what difference it makes if it's JCU, or if it's an up-and-comer like Otterbein or Ohio Northern?  Because you can't really have all of those teams with seven or eight win seasons.

If John Carroll and Baldwin-Wallace have name recognition anymore, it's for things they've done outside of football, especially in the latter case.

Another poster brought up a good point.  If JCU and B-W become solid programs and start winning games again, it's going to come at the expense of some of the league's other schools.  In a league where you've got nine conference games and only one non-conference game, schools are really playing a zero-sum game.  I'm not going to continue this line of discussion, but I'm sure some of you know where it goes next.  :P

Not only lost, but lost at home to a Columbus city team.  And it wasn't Brookhaven.  Yikes.  Not that they weren't still an excellent all around team, but Swigert's injury came back to haunt them as many thought it might.  Head up though...10-1 is a great season for any school.
