Raider 68

Good game for the Raiders, took advantage of the wind in first quarter and
the defense was strong the entire game. While the game was a little sloppy in the second half, Zac L. will another great running back for the Raiders as time goes by. Glad #12 played for OTT the entire game, except for a few series.

I thought a few pass interference calls were questionalble, but overall the refs did an Ok job.

Wow...I did not think Mount would win that big...offense has come into its own and as stated a few stars waiting their turn.

A special Thanks to Mucaw for giving that little boy a football...you made his day!

What was up with the guy getting walked out of the stadium?

Great game "D"!!!

reality check

Am I missing something with regards to poster D.O.C. typing "what a defense" every week and not typing anything else???

Looked at the MUC/OTT box score:

Otterbein didn't pick up a first down until it's sixth possession of the game and immediately followed up that first down by throwing a pick.  MUC was up 35-0 on the Cardinals by that time.  INSANE.

MUC only had 4 penalties in the game.  Raider68, you said you didn't agree with a couple of the PI calls and the play-by-play shows there were only two in the game.  I guess that means you didn't like ANY of the PI calls.  Of the two, only one was accepted.  It's been talked about a lot before but MUC is used to a big number of penalties during this dynasty but if they average 4 penalties for 40 yards for the rest of their season, the staff has to be happy.

Kyle Miller; nice productive day.  2 catches, 2 TD's.  That's effective.

Raidertown,

Little Mount won't be undefeated after next week.. As they finally play a decent team next week in the Bridge Bowl.

Also, hate to gloat but I'm glad ONU made me look good against Cap.. They do have enough offense imo to be dangerous, should they make the tourney.

Realitycheck,

We are at a bar with some of my old school TMC teammates and Emily just said ay-da again when naming the town ONU is located in.  They gave her more ish than you and I did..

Otterbein was a pretender.

taking the points with OTT cost me a perfecto ......that will teach me to pick agin the Raiders

The otters have a decent offense but schlosser had a lot of passes tipped by Mt.  Otters d was non existent.  Slow to react and just slow period.  They were worn out by half.  Mt. D was dominant.  I don't know how many yards the leagues leading rusher had but it wasn't much.  All in all Mt. made a statement today.  Were back and still at the top of the OAC.  OC if they make the playoffs will not go far.  Defense has too many holes.  This game was over by the end of the first quarter.  On another note, congrats to the bucks.  The sweater vest had them ready and Pryor showed what he can do with his  amazing talent. Thank goodness.

Which STILL would have put you well behind RC.

Remember .. the regular season Pick-Em is just a warm-up for the post-season.  THAT is the contest that really counts.   ;)
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

RC,

You are right on the penalties, Mount was below their average and I hope  that continues.

Congrats on ONU winning and your staying #1 for pickems.

It will be interesting to see the North region rankings on Wednsesday. ONU's playoff hopes look really good at this point.

Actually he had 92 yards and a TD to give him 13 TD's and 988 yards rushing through nine games.  His name is Brent Donley.   ;D

I'm assuming you were referring to Colton Coy but Donley came into today's action leading the OAC in total rushing yards, rushing TD's and carries.

Colton Coy ran 9 times for 35 yards for Otterbein.  That puts him as the third leading rusher in the OAC behind Lamar Hunter from Heidelberg who had a great day too running for 158 yards and a score.

reality check

I think ONU is a definite front-runner as far as OAC Pool C candidates go but I still believe they're a long shot because of so many other 9-1 teams nationally that figure into the equation.

In the last ten years, the only times the OAC didn't have a second team in the playoffs were 2004 and 2001.  In both seasons ONU was the runner-up in the OAC and finished the year with 8-2 marks and was on the outside looking in.  I remember how much of a long shot we all thought it was in 2001 while we waiting for the word on whether we'd get a Pool C in 2001 and now all of the sudden we're talking about it as if it's a given.

I'm cautiously optimistic but have already seen ONU get overlooked by the committee when I thought they should be playing an eleventh game in 2005 and 2001.  In 2001, we were on a six game winning streak, with losses to MUC and @ UWSP  by 4 points (who went 8-3 and represented the WIAC in the playoffs).

We've been here before.  Will history repeat itself?

JK

I would have gone for it too JK.  Up ten, a FG puts you up 13.  It's still two scores.  Two TD's means about the same as a TD and a FG.  It's still two possessions.  And the playcall was on point, just poorly executed.

Some coaches pass up field goals in that situation because a blocked field goal can turn into six right away or at least leave great field position.
