You can do it!  I do those "blast" trips all the time.  It's nothing for me to drive 12 hours for a day, stay 24 hours, then "blast" back by Sun night to some game or other event.  Last year, my brother and I took his sons to the Stagg Bowl.  We didn't leave until late Fri afternoon because he had to work (I took the day off); we're "blasting" along the Ohio Turnpike near Cleveland about 8 PM and he's looking at the map and suddenly exclaims "good grief" [or something to that nature ;D!] - we're not going to get there until 4 AM - I thought you said this was not a bad trip?  I was redeemed when we arrived at the motel in Salem at 2 AM; we caught some "Z's" and made it to the game - no problem!

So drive safe and just make sure you don't get a ticket!  Enjoy the game and the wedding.

Wow, my wife knew she was getting a football nut when she married me and that she'd be going to the DIII "game of the week" alot, and seeing a lot of DIII [_____] College's football stadiums on our drives for vacation or conferences!  But your Bowl Game Anniversary Agreement is great!

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you on the OAC board and best of luck to your teams this weekend.  Drive safe.

May you all have a wonderful day filled with good food, a couple of football games and just enough of your relatives to last until Easter.

I am betting that the Awesome Capital Offense finally shows up this week or at least the defense scores enough to get you to Alliance again.

Wow those chickens must have already hatched.

I'm so ashamed. :-[ I gave my wife total control on setting the wedding date. She went through about 4 different dates (you know scheduling the church, the restaurant, etc.) and finally settled on October 15. Anyone know what October 15, 1988 is famous for?

1. Notre Dame - Miami for the Number 1 ranking.
2. First game of the World Series. You know, the one where Kirk Gibson hits the HR off Dennis Eckersley?

So, and this is the truth, before the ceremony is over, my dad disappears. Just walks out. Where did he go? To the limo to watch the end of the game. Then, we have to do the receiving line thing. My dad comes up to me. I think he's going to tell me something interesting and profound. I guess so. He tells me Notre Dame won and the score. And my wife wants to know what he said to me. Uh, I'll tell you later. :D

I am so proud in saying that the subscription to SI is in my wife's name.  God bless.

PLEASE tell me Augie doesn't have the "heave it up" pass strategy as well? That would not bode well for the Raiders. ;D

Roe went 6 for 7 in the game vs Lakeland.  ;) You never know what is coming.  :o

1. Go to the wedding. Unless you have a close relative playing in the game. Hopefully they only get married once. Your attendence, or lack of , could be a sore spot or happy memory for the rest of your friendship.
2.All have a safe and happy holiday.
3. Let's thank all the servicemen and women overseas that make us able to have these idle chatter.
4. God bless and raise a toast the last bastion of Americana, Division 3 Football.

it is true Roe went 6-7. it is also true MUC loses a conference game once every 14 years. I wouldn't count on either one becoming a regular event anytime soon.

I will give my two (maybe only worth one) cents regarding the oac quarterback debate.  Phillips must have made a complete 100000 % turnaround from the Mount game.  He was absolutely PATHETIC in that game.  Mind you, he got his ARSE kicked pretty much every time he dropped back to pass.  He was timid, threw into double coverage, and the ONLY receiver he could hit on a regular basis wore a Purple Raiders uniform (Watson).

The same applies to Rocky against the Raiders.  He threw bad pass after bad pass.  Yes again, he was harassed regularly.  I know those two game are just a microcosm of the whole season, but I for one could not vote for either guy based on those game.  Jorris hands-down outperformed them head to head.

Besides...Phillips was a frickin' SOCCER player when he was younger!   >:(  I give him credit for coming to his senses, but SOCCER??????

Happy Thanksgiving All!

Augie crew - eat all the turkey you can today, because come Saturday you are MEAT ON THE TABLE!   ;D

I wouldn't think it is too wise to dis Augie.  Mount had a relatively easy game last week.   There are no more easy games in the playoffs. ;)
