MUCFball

Hello everyone...first time poster but an observer for quite some time!

I attended the MUC game today and had a few thoughts.....

First off, QB's looked decent.  Neither could really separate themselves from the other. Bad mistakes in the redzone where perfection is vital.
Also, the WR's are very well off.  With Garcon catching balls and returning kickoffs and Casto catching balls along with punt returns, these young men will be VERY exciting to watch.  Impossible to double either because the other will make you pay.

RB's--Wasnt impressed with Robinson but Mooring (sp) looked good at times. Ibeh did very well blocking as well as running.   Robinson may need another game under his belt before things start clicking.

Defense was impressive as always.  Cant wait for John Carrol!

Shark,
I gotta beleive LK can't be too pleased with the penalty count today, seems they done enough to self- destruct most drives themselves. However both QBs as well, were a bit jittery yet, but the passing game will mature quite well in time with the 4 wide out pattern. Seen a little of the "ala Marino over the middle" in Garcone wih the one play and it looks as though opponents will have fits covering them. Seems if they incorporate the TE and Ebeh to release into the flats more frequent, this will definitely help the QBs and really create a nightmare to defend. The running game as well, should become even more a threat too, impressive speed and many different looks. Overall, a little messing out the gate, but sure enough raw talent and skill to overcome some early adversities.

Carroll, double l, fyi.

I was at the Mount game this afternoon and it looked like a team that was a little rusty out of the gate, but also as many have pointed out, LK cycled in a ton of players.  Mount's O also used a bunch of different formations and sets.  Something tells me that with a week off to prepare we'll see less penalties and an overall cleaner game from the Raiders.  Bad news for the Streaks come the 17th.

umm... bloodletting in springfield

51-0 cap.  1 minute left in the 3rd

I obviously didn't make it to the Cap game after the Ohio State game.  Listening to it on the computer.  Cap looking to take it in again with the 3rd teamers.

ODAC post says Marietta is winning 9-7 at half.

JK

Pentello done for the night after 3 quarters.  346 yards passing.  Witt total of 126 yards.

FG cap, 54-0 early 4th

Muskies go down 13-10 to COW , a field goal only scoring in the 2nd half by the Scots for the win.  ::)

A lot of talent on the field today for Mt. Union, ;D but very, very sloppy offensive play.  :'( Not the well oiled offensive "machine" we're used to seeing.  The D played well.

This team needs to find a leader, and it needs to jell in a hurry.
12-0 = 13

Seventies,

Good seeing you this morning.  Hope your game went well in Mogadore this afternoon.

The stands seemed a bit empty without ' 66.  We do miss him.  A nice tribute in the program.
12-0 = 13

Ditto that on  Dick Ross '66, really nice to see the note in the program!

Yikes.  Cap over Witt by 54?  And Witt is the pre-season favorite in the NCAC?

My thoughts from watching Mount today can be summed up with one word:  UGLY.  The veteran O-line did not play well, and the QB's even worse.  Neither QB made good decisions, and neither showed much arm strength   The lone bright spot offensively was was the WR's, especially Garcon.  The kid definitely has serious wheels.  Hopefully LK can find a QB to step up, because it sure looks like the strength of this O is at the WR position.

The defense looked like a typical Mount D: solid and fast.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Call me shocked that Cap turned this into a blowout.  I really expected a battle.

Stats coming up on the postgame right now.  The one that really stands out is:
Total offense Cap 523 Witt 189 :o

Apparently Capital's Defense really played well.  We all knew the offense would be good.  But to do this to what is supposed to be a pretty good Witt team???

Looking forward to the battle of Columbus at Otterbein in a couple of weeks.  I am going to try to make it there since I didn't make this one.

By the way, beautiful day at the old Horseshoe for the Ohio St- Miami game.  Buckeye defense is really something else.  Zwick looked sharp.  Despite all the arguments you will hear over the next week, he WILL start against Texas next saturday.
