Yaa, small cute artsy, affordable. Good fit for a quiet, shy girl from urban  giant Mogadore. Was going to drop in on Michael and fam, but I left my phone in car. Catch him for Fri. lunch.

The Berg having spring ball now?

I've spent the past week of spring break in the nation's Capitol and NYC.  A night in Tiffin would be a nice respite for me. :)

DC in the spring is great except for the crowds!

Same can be said for NYC.

Nope, been out for almost 25 years now.

I'm getting primed for some raunchy anti-Mount Union, The University t-shirts for the first home game. If I had to put with MUC for all these years why did they have to make worse?

Anybody now picturing Heidelberg as a vast sprawling cosmopolitan campus now that they became a university? Don't count on it.

Maybe I can get the drunks on the east side side to chant MUC instead of first down this year.

I love the setting of Heidelberg's on campus football field although parking (and seating) are a little iffy.

Got my first Berg wear today. I gotta break into this black, red and orange thing slowly

Neither DC nor NYC are places to escape the crowds.  We were in DC during the peak weekend of Cherry Blossom Festival so the crowds were worse than usual.  Its always fun to talk with folks from all parts of the country in lines, and on trains and buses.  The only people who seem pleased with our present governmental direction reside within the beltway.

In the 80's the 'Berg wore orange helmets for a time.  About '85 a fire destroyed most of their football gear so they borrowed helmets from BGSU.  I believe they were already wearing orange though.  They were known affectionately around the OAC as the "Pumpkinheads" during those years.

I thought their colors were orange and black like ONU, but seventies is correct and their website listing on D3 says red, orange and black. Thanks for the background! :)

I hope so, or I'm going to be really pissed about these red Berg athletic shorts I bought :P

I think these could be my new trademark at Hartshorn Field (dug that one out of ancient daze)

An on campus facility will benefit the program greatly, even if its shared with a high school.  'Berg played at Tiffin Columbian High School Stadium when we went there over 20 years ago, which wasn't a bad facility, just not their own. Traveling off campus for home games eliminates home field advantage and keeps away a great deal of the student body which also lessens any advantage as well.

Heidelberg has shared Frost-Kalnow with Tiffin U, Columbian High School and Calvert High School for years and it was recently remodeled. There is no argument that "Peaceful Valley" is a nicer setting but the only permanent seating will accommodate about 50 people comfortably everything else will have to be portables.

So you're saying thank goodness it's the Berg because 50 seats should be enough with about ten to spare?!?

Plus I never sit down at football games, so I'm a freebee.

And with this being my son's last year in youth football and my last year as well my attendance is limited to off weeks and the end of the season. Thankfully youth football will have three games behind them before MTU flies to Oshkosh. Hopefully Sportstime Ohio broadcasts some more OAC contests.

It kinda reminds me of the setting at St Johns (without the facilities)
Somethings besides seats may need to be temporary

Anybody planning to make the trip to Oshkosh ? No way I'm doing that in a bus

Expedia quoted me a price to Osh, Kyrgyzstan

I did find a Round Trip to Green Bay, two hotel nights and a rental car for under $500 out of Cleveland .

Not sure many Raider fans are making that trip, regardless of the method of transportation!

Small but Slow....when in the D.C. did you happen to notice the drifts of snow in the shadows mixed in with the cherry blossoms?  I did.
