Small but Slow

Coach Wable's hometown is Van Wert, not terribly far, but far enough.

Ohioans are fortunate to have such wide diversity in college options.  Here in FL our kids have few options outside of the large universities.  OAC schools provide an attractive option even for kids from the sunshine state.  There's much to be said for small town schools.  A lot of parents and students like the idea of sending theirkids to school in a safe, quiet environment.  Most high schools in my area are larger than any OAC school.  It may not provide the ego boost some are seeking, but the thought of a more personal type of college experience is attractive.

Adam McCord - listed as a DB, but looks like a future LB to me....and loves the special effects, but i did not know that UMU had a graphic design major?

Jimmy Zubik - very shifty runner, he hardly gets touched the whole video...either has amazing vision or the state of PA needs to work on tackling

McCord and Rehor (Fairview High School senior Tom Rehor, 6-1 190) both look like they can play the OL/SS position in the MUC 4-2-5 Defense.  More of a Hybrid OLB/SS than a traditional DB or LB.

You just never had the opportunity because of Cap's location to travel twenty minutes west to Ada's big (ugly) sister city: Lima.  Lima was affectionately reffered to by the guest performers at the PAC as "Lost In Middle America".  At least Lima had a Skyline Chili's and (at the time) the closest McDonald's to campus.

I've been to Lima.  Not what I would call "culture" and definitely NOT a selling point.  Although they still have a Kewpie Burger there, don't they?

Van wert is also home to Nate Sinning, a once promising Mount QB who quit because of a kid named Borchert.

Maybe Coach Kehres is adjusting his defensive looks to match his few returning starters. Graduation really hit the defense going into 2010.

I was looking down on the level of HS competition that Zubik played against and suddenly recalled that Mogadore, Norwalk St Paul's and Delta gave us Chuck Moore, Dan Pugh and Nate Kmic. He really changes direction beautifully and has a great burst of speed

Wiregrass Ranch DB Asaad Nevel commits to Mount Union

Don't know much about this kid.  Wiregrass Ranch is a fairly new High School on the East side of my county.  His High School Coach, Jeremy Shobe, is originally from Waynesfield, OH and played at Otterbein.

EDIT: Here is an article about his coach:
