His kid was third string for Redlands as a freshman a few years ago

To be accurate, in 2006 the Redlands QB depth chart was Chris Saras, Brian Ziska, Dan Selway, and Bryan Beaver, in that order.

As to "offers" that Wabby had I talked to him at the Crespi practice and this is what he said, I have no reason to doubt him...Pitt made him an invited walk on  offer with promise of a schollie in the following year. Fresno wanted him to grey shirt the first semester, which means he is there as a part time student and works out but doesnt practice and learns the system, but his eligbility clock doesnt begin to tick.  Then in the spring he practices with the team as a walk on and gets the schollie in the fall and then redshirts....its a six year program.  Nevada wanted him to walk on with a schollie coming in spring.  He was invited to attend their camp but went to Pitt instead and so they offered another kid but they still wanted him to come, they just had to wait for the spring to make the formal offer because they were out of schollies until then.  Louisville,..... they had offered a couple of the top guys in the country who had verbally commited to other schools.  One of them committed to LSU. Louisville then invited Wabby on an official visit and requested his dad come. He was under the impression they were going to offer him that weekend, and he and his dad left LA on a Friday morning.  While on their way, a kid who was offered by Louisville but commited to LSU discovered that LSU had offfered another qb and that  qb committed to LSU.  He then called Louisville and accepted their offer.  As a consequence, Louisville offered  Wabby an invited walk on and told him that all their scholies were used and that they would have a schollie in January for him.  I asked him about what is dad had told me...... that they were calling him again and he said that they were and that one of the kids they had offered did not quailfy and that if he was interested they had a schollie for him.  He debated an decided to stick with Redlands.  He said he checked the internet and they already had offers out to 4 or 5 qb's for 2007 and that one of them might be Petrino's son( head coach).  He said the possibility of playing was intriguing but playing was what he wanted and he felt he would play now or early at Redlands and, they would let him play baseball.  I asked him if he had anyother offers and he said he had several from back east, all 1AA schools but he wanted to stay on the west coast.  He said Willamette (sP) and Southern Oregon recruited him and ...how about this...Occidental!  He said he really like Coach Maynard and he was a big reason why he stayed with Redlands.  I hope that I relayed his words to me accurately.

My condolences to the OAC board.

he didn't... (not that I like taking up for RC)... but re-read that again and see if you recognize any last names on there from emails you may have gotten around playoff time last year.

RC --- I would've paid to listen to what that guy has to say... awesome.

Snoop --- you mean the repeat champs from this year and last LAKERS ??? I was born and partially raised in SoCal.... Rancho Palos Verdes.    And after Cleveland's effort last night against the aging Celtics, I'd say if Cavs don't pick it up they won't get by Boston... and then could lose LBJ this summer.

Here is the link and quote where Taver Johnson from Ohio State compliments Capital's new DC.

Nice to read that stuff about my alma mater.

Everyone has been around a GA that busts his tail. As a full-time coach, who is the best GA you have ever worked with? Why was he so good to work with? What's he doing now?
It's hard to say just one. Chris Hauser, who just left Ohio State to become the defensive coordinator at Capital University (OH) was a real worker, very professional, and did everything with a smile. Sometimes you will have a GA that will do everything, but not necessarily with a smile and good attitude. Fred Pagac and Craig Aukerman both connected extremely well with the players. Both guys had the "it" factor in terms of coaches. Fred is now coaching the Florida UFL franchise and Craig left Kent State in the off-season to join the Denver Broncos staff as assistant linebackers coach. Because of their ability to interact well with the players, both guys gained more responsibility during their tenure as a grad assistant.

This OAC board has been more active since December 2009 then several years prior. Maybe its the excitement going into 2010, or different subjects/posters, or D3 football is just growing more in popularity. The more senior posters can verify the reasons or argue them! :)

Yep, the job placement rate in the Army is 100%!  He's part of the 1st ROTC class at MUC to graduate.  We will not only be able to see him graduate on Saturday, but we will also pin his Lt. bars on him at a commissioning ceremony right after.

His older brother, a West Point grad, is currently an Platoon Leader in Iraq (Infantry, Ranger).....so, we will soon have two deployed.

Sometimes, it's fun watching them grow up.........other times, not so much.  Best wishes to all the grads!
