I failed to mention this earlier but the ONU football team embarks today on a week-long trip to Italy similar to the trip they made to Germany in 2007.  They will travel with about 80 players, coaches and parents to sight-see and play an exhibition game against an Italian All-Star club on May 29.

You can check in on the Polar Bears here this week.

didn't ONU win by about 80 when they went to Germany in '07?

It's all quite like stepping back in time at least twenty years before "colleges" got all glitzy and worried about promoting their image to students overseas. (while ignoring the kids down the street)  But of course don't get me started

I know Matt Palm (AD) is big on the "Heidelberg Family" thing.  The athletes all go to each other's games to support each other.  It's actually a piece of the "Berg Life" competition that the teams have.

I think things like the march to the bell certainly promote that close knit feel.  Call me crazy, but that was a major reason I chose a small school.

Victory bell hidden in the corner of the south east end of Mount stadium. It was in the way in front of the Campus Center, Hit with a rock hammer after the 53 game streak was offical.   I was going for my ESPN Moment
