The only All American Team that really matters is the D3Football.com team.  They are the only ones who really do the research and know who the players are.

Here is an Pre-season All American Team courtesy of Bobo:

Cecil Shorts and Sam Kershaw made from the Raiders :)

They do show CSIII as the #14 ranked WR for the 2011 draft. (Kicker remark removed)

Agreed, the other one was just for the what-it-worth category!

How could they possibly put Kershaw on the second team?  Where are these first team linebackers from?  Who have they played against?  Who have they beat?  How many have they played and won?    Please.

They put Coppage from UWW on the second team as well.  This list reminds me of  the Sporting News  pre-season poll for D3,  then they do not ever mention D3 during the season!

Here's hoping Coppage is second team  ;)

A hooker headed to Wilmington?

I can't imagine the Wilmington area pays real well.  The price is probably equal to the number of teeth she has?
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Should be a real help with recruiting.....

I know we've had this discussion before, but it's still fun to see the articles that begin with:  "Hooker signs letter of intent to attend Wilmington College".

... especially since Wilmington is not the center of entertainment is southern Ohio! :)

New HC Henry Stanford had a "Meet and Greet" session on campus on Monday.  Not sure why, but I am very impressed that he did.  Of course, I was not able to attend, but here is a link to the follow up article

http://www.capital.edu/29768/

Stanford introduced the new staff and gave his vision for the program.  I think this was a great idea, given the recent rumors of institutional support and the coaching losses the last few years.  He made himself and his staff available to the public and some of Cap's most ardent supporters to show that he is committed to maintaining the recent tradition of Capital football and not willing to slip back into the dark ages.

Another thing of note, not in this article, but in the coaching staff section of the website, is that Stanford has every coach identified by what areas they are responsible for recruiting.  There were some grumblings that recruiting had slipped at Cap the last few seasons after Collins left and that several assistants were not pulling their weight in that area.  One of the best things I heard about Stanford was that he is a tireless recruiter in the Collins mold.  I think this assigning of coaches to specific regions of the state and country shows just how serious he is about it.

I'm really starting to get excited for next season.  I think it's looking more and more like Cap made a really good hire by promoting him to HC.

Is anyone aware of the lady from Alliance who called 911 five times in succession looking for a husband? :-\
I heard this on a Twin Cities radio station this morning, is there any truth to this?

She was of course arrested.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I had a chance to go to the "Meet and Greet" and came away very impressed with Stanford and his staff.  He will be a great recruiter and promoter of Cap football.  He has surrounded himself with several young coaches that should relate well to HS recruits.  Hopefully he will get the support of the Administration so his hard work pays off.

So will be hearing any announcers saying the pass is from "Seaman to Shorts stopped by Hooker?"

FYI, just returned from an OHSAA Board of Control meeting, and:

--the decision on the football championship sites was not made.  Apparently, the site visits to Columbus/Canton/Massillon by the selection committee were just completed.  Decision will be made next month.

--request by basketball coaches to expand season from 20 to 22 games was defeated by a 5-4 vote.

--request by the wrestling coaches to add a dual-meet state championship for 2012-2013 was approved by a 8-1 vote.

.....and all of this in a continuing effort to keep us all informed. :)
