Off to Tiffin later this afternoon to Orientation and introduce my daughter to Coach Mike. I'm going to have a ton of Hilton Honors points after four years of going out there.

Indians are back to normal

18 years of losing, sounds like being a Browns fan

The Tribe is on pace for 100 losses, maybe they can make a Major League III sometime soon! :-[

Summer without a good baseball team forces me to think fall!

Check out FoxSports Ohio.  They carry the Reds.  The FIRST PLACE Reds.

To the best of my knowledge, the OAC is not a target for expansion, but it might be the only conference in America I am not hearing about right now.

unfortunately a Major League III has been made and its horrible.

JK, sadly FSN OH doesnt show the Reds games in NE Ohio.  Stupid since the Indians are on STO.  I would think that the Reds games would have higher ratings than Best Damn Show reruns or Final Score, I guess thats just the native Cincinnatian in me talking

Chin up - you never know what will happen.

The Cubs/White Sox "Battle for Chicago" was a double no-no for 6.5 innings (first time that long since 1980).  The no hit pitchers were 1-5 and 2-6 entering the game.  The 1-5 guy beat the 2-6 guy.  Anyone who says they understand baseball doesn't understand baseball. ;)

If the OAC were expanded, there are not any teams that come to mind. Maybe that is why it may not happen in the foreseeable future! :-X

I was initially worried that I had OVER-saved for son #1 (those tax-protected accounts can ONLY be used for college expenses).  He started at EMU (pretty cheap, AND scholarships), but transferred to U of M his junior year.  Between that and his going on to grad school, I haven't even drawn on the account for the last three semesters, letting the account recover from the 'Great Recession'.

Son #2 wants to begin at the community college (he got into (non-academic) trouble at his high school, we withdrew him before he could be expelled, and he just graduated from an alternative high school).  Since they seem to have beaten him down to rather modest aspirations, we'll see if I over-saved for him.  (There is enough in the account, and fortunately no time limit, that he can eventually do anything he wishes.  And he IS a very smart kid, though his choices are often pretty dumb.)

[Oh all right. ;)  He was twice busted for having marijuana on campus.  OF COURSE he had grass on campus - that is where he bought it, you head-in-the-sand morons!! :o >:(]

Mr. Ypsi:  Don't forget, if you have OTTA credits, that they can be transferred to another account (your younger son) without tax implications.  I believe they can also be given as a "gift" to someone not a family member......this is not to be construed as legal advice, please contact your tax advisor  :)

HScoach,

Is it right before the season begins that we see some predictions for the OAC? I thought it was late July, but I am not sure. :-\

Nice time in Tiffin. Was impressed with some of the western Ohio farm boy's I met. Had a nice visit with Coach Hallet, but we were a little burned out from orientation. Looking forward to making some of the on-campus games this year. Only problem being Kevin's Saturday afternoon youth football games. I guess for Mount Union I could still do the morning festivities and and watch the first half and still make Mogadore by 4:00.  For HU, I gotta pray for a bye week.

PS: Anybody got a kid at LK/VK football camp this Thursday thru Saturday ?

Wow.  You have a good memory and might have been the only person reading them.  It was usually mid-summer, but I'm probably not writing them this year.  Too busy.  Life is getting in the way of my fun >:(
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

If the PAC10 has 11 teams ans the Big Ten has 12, how many does the SEC have?

Pac-10 will add another, probably Utah.  That's the word on the street.

And the Big 12 now has 10, and if you believe the hype, they are going to stick with that number.  I don't understand why, since everyone else is trying to get 12 to have a championship game.  I think TCU and Houston be Big 12 members before it is all said and done, but we'll see.  TCU might have made a powerful enemy when they came out against Baylor in the Mountain West when the rumors of the demise of the Big 12 were at hand.

Although the OAC does not have a TV network, the coverage of  selected OAC games on Sports Time Ohio has grown very popular! :) Not sure how many D3 conferences have TV coverage (even tape delayed) across the country, maybe Pat knows?
