I asked the person who voted Wesley 2, Mount Union 3 just out of curiosity and he said that Mount Union without Rocco at quarterback in that game looked mortal.

Yahhhh....and Wesley's offense looked FABULOUS in that game!  Please....as long as Wesley has the same coach, same type of offensive philosophy/play-calling, they will never get over the hump.  JUMP PASS.....did I just see the kid try to throw a JUMP PASS????   ;D

So now when Mt. Union wins by ONLY 21 points (a LLPP "Monkeystomp") in a playoff game, they are mortal???

You won't find one Warhawk fan with an ounce of respect for Wesley after demolishing them in the semi's in 05,  58-6 and in 06, 44-7.  Of course, it doesn't help that they blamed the first loss on not wearing the right shoes on the frozen tundra of the Perk and complained in 06 about our tradition of firing the cannon after a TD so the NCAA forced it out of the stadium.   But they have made it to the semi's 3 of the last 5 years so, clearly, they are consistently near the top of D-3, just not THE top so ranking them ahead of the Mount?  I think that voter needs to have his voter's registration card revoked.   ;) ;D

Terrific poster and both are extremely nice gentlmen.  Referring only to Wolverines ability to compete against the Warhawks and Raiders on the field.  I guess, though, "with an ounce of respect," was a little harsh.  :)

Whoa there, Raider fans... 10-7 in the fourth isn't really a "monkey-stomping."

Got to admit, I forgot about the Jump pass or as we call it in Youth-32 Pop pass

I agree 413...i'm sure the Wesley fans are nice people...but yea, you won't find too much repsect for the football team from UWW fans.

Don't know about ALL Wesley fans, I only met three. I for one miss the cocky JCU shirts from during the Tom Arth years when they had a legit chance of winning, ie Muck Fount and Mount This.

What I don't miss; with all apologies to Erik Raeburn and wife, are Wabash fans

Hey....Wesleydad and his son have joined us at Pancho's for the breakfast of champions.....margaritas!  They are "good people".  I know every year is a new year, but until they prove they can actually perform in a semi-final game, I am not a believer.

If you'd have seen the game live, you'd understand it wasn't close nearly as close as Wesley thinks it was.   Wesley rushed for 55 total yards on 30 attempts (1.8 avg) and passed for only 141 yards on 29 attempts (4.9 avg) with 3 INT's.   Wesley's TB rushed for 40 yards on 21 carries (1.9 avg).  Cecil ran the wildcat for 1 quarter and more than doubled his production and almost out-rushed Wesley as a team (C Shorts = 98 yards & 2 TD's on 18 carries).

Similar to the Mount / St John Fisher playoff game where Kmic ran for 371 yards.  The game was never in doubt, but SJF fans still beat their chests about being within a TD in the 4th quarter.  When you give up 371 yards rushing to one guy on 42 carries (8.8 avg) and only rush for 77 yards on 37 attempts (2.1 avg), the game isn't overly competitive.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

That has been our household joke since I came home from the 2000 Widener 70-30 game. My wife asks who won, I tell her, and she finishes with: "But it wasn't really that close"

I did watch the game live. MUC looked like a flopping trout on offense before Cecil was moved behind center. Look, I was never convinced that Wesley would win, but it was an ugly, close contest that surely didn't inspire confidence going into the next game. One they lost, by the way. Mortality, indeed.
