No F-ing thanks.  17 hours, damn.  My Jr year at Capital we played Gannon in Erie, PA.  That was only like 6 hours on a bus but was still far too much for me.

Anybody else having trouble logging into Kick-off?
I haven't been able to get in for several days.  I assumed it was some temporary glitch, but still can't get in.
I'm getting the following message when I click more information:

Crazy they are heading all the way to Maine. Furthest we went was Defiance. Sad part is, my freshmen year the team actually stayed the night in a hotel. Guess the school wasn't having budget issues then. Wish the best of luck to the guys heading east. Weather should be interesting!!!

I hope they have a safe trip and that Hurricane does not come too far
inland. Reports today have Earl hitting the Carolinas and moving up to Maine!

Can't believe a chartered plane won't have been cheaper than two or three buses for four days and a quarter of a continent worth of fuel

Thanks sho and Raider. And BTW, Alma was supposed to get new turf this year but with the new athletics building/arena, it didnt get done. It should be fresh next year!

Well, Heidelberg has a beautiful field with new turf and a fabulous track but won't have permanent seating for a while. I did locate the surveyor's stakes though. That's a start

Seriously, how do you recruit top players when you have no stadium?  Coach Hallett will have a much easier job when they get that project completed.  I'm really surprised it was not done for this season.

Well, I didn't exactly say they didn't have a stadium,

But,
You might want to bring your Barco lounger from home

Expect more permanent digs next year

reality check

I've been to Nova Scotia by way of Bar Harbor, Maine and can attest that there's not much in the way of options up there.  A chartered flight would still have involved two buses, to and from the airports on two separate days.  All the flight would have saved was the gas, a night in a hotel and a day's worth of bus rental; probably a wash in the long run.

It's not a good situation for travel either way and will make for some cramped quarters.

Why would you need two busses, you can fly right into Bangor Maine, especially with a charter.  Or fly into Portsmouth and it is about a 2 hr bus ride to Bangor.
