Thank you, ESPN.  :-\

I could care less about the left  coast, I just want to sleep in and eat the breakfast buffet at the motel BEFORE I go to the tailgate BEFORE the game.

If as many student bail and go home for the weekend at Oshkosh as did at Whitewater, Mount could look like the home team with some local Minn-Wisconsin Alums on hand

at only $8, the Mount-Oshkosh game seems like a bargain
I'll be watching online broadcast and listening to hscoach on internet radio.   :)

Sorry Runyr, forgot about you when I made the left coast remark.

Raiderguy-where are you. Saw you posted on Pick 'ems

You gonna make the trek to Oshkosh?

No sure yet if I'll be able to be in a spot where I can use the laptop. Got Youth Football in Kent from 11:30AM to 5:30 PM

BeenHit2Hard: The son's Youth Varsity team is through 2 scrimmages and 2 season games without being scored on. We were up 44-0 at the half against Copley and played the second half with everybody playing a new position.

My apologies as I am just getting back into the Post ...

[1] Is STO carrying any UMU games this year?  Couldn't be sure from their site.

[2] What PPV are you guys talking about?

Thanks!

1) STO will have all four of the homes games
2) UW-Oshkosh is streaming the game via PPV (http://www.titans.uwosh.edu/Football/Schedule.html)

Are you and Ric still broadcasting games? The game notes for the UW-Oshkosh game this Saturday's game states Joe Tait and Harry Paidas will be on the radio call on WDPN 1310 AM in Alliance.

Pat

Really enjoyed the video highlights on the front page. Thanks again for all you do with this site and for D3 Football.

Someone recently posted that there was an article about Coach Kehres in the Coach and AD Magazine.

I was able to get a copy today and Coach Kehres had an interesting quote about the penalties that the team accumulates each year.  It was in a section talking about being aggressive "intelligently" as he put it.

QuoteWhen you play aggressively, you can get more penalties.  We don't like committing penalties but if our players are being aggressive --- and they are being tough, quick and smart --- then we aren't as concerned about those calls going against us.

This topic has been discussed here from time to time and I thought it was interesting reading about how the coach felt about it.

He also talked about how they form their offensive plan each year.  They start with Player Evaluation, to see what each main player's strengths are.  Then they move to formation selection to match those strengths.  Finally, they choose the best plays to fit the players and formations.  They don't try to force the players to fit into a specific offense or scheme, but rather adjust their plans each year to fit the types of players that they have.

This year, for example, their base set will be the split backfield, but will flex the TE out, rather than have him line up directly next to the tackle.  He also is going to use an unbalanced formation more on running plays to get two Tackles on the same side.

Very interesting read.  He diagrams some of their basic passing plays, and they reminded me of pre-season practices my Fr. Year (1990), being in offensive meetings and drawing up the same basic Triangle Passing plays, with three options for the QB to throw to based on the drops and coverages of the LBs.

You beat me to posting it.  Unfortunately, access to the TV feed was a last minute casualty on UWO's part.  And since Joe already had travel plans in place, Joe and Harry will continue to go and will do the radio.  Ric & I get to listen at home like the everybody else.

I'm sad to not see the game live, but 5 minutes after the game ends, I'm going to be really glad I'm working in my garage and not looking at a 10+ hour ride home.....

What else IS there in Ada????   ;D

HSCoach (or anyone) - who is Blair Skilliter (backup RB)?  Was he a JV stud last year?  If you guys discussed him previously, I guess I missed it.

Saturday is going to be a GREAT football day.  Watching OSU on the big screen, and Mount on the computer.  Now THAT is some prime multi-tasking.   ;)
