Hello Folks!

Jr. led his team to a huge win against arch-rival Jackson.  Two touchdowns, 125+ yards rushing, and a half-dozen tackles.  Hoover freshman now 3-0.

Bash Dad....seriously?  He IS a kid......please.  I know that the NCAC student athletes are SO much more advanced and better educated than any OAC kid, so should this surprise you?   ::)

And exactly how exciting is a video of newspaper interview supposed to be? I thought it was a giant leap-of-faith to even post a QB video when Mount has at least three and maybe 5 decent quarterbacks.

I know Mount is busy trying to fill a void, namely an all new website for 19 sports. Hard to get tons of new an exciting material when the sport hasn't even started.

Not to make excuses, but if you look at the soccer and volleyball previews, they are like, well, I mean, wait for it.............................totally lame. "Say how are practices going?" "Good" " Say, like are there many charges from last year?", "Well yaa, like totally, ya know like some of the girls like graduated, whatever and now we have to play with like these High School kids. Which totally sucks". ::) :o

Got to admit, till it was brought up, I'd , never actually viewed the video.

While we wait for some football, please take a few minutes and read the article about A J Claycomb and Mom in http://www.usafootballmagazine.com/ . Check page 23.

AJ 's uncle was a Frat Brother of Runyr and mine at the University formerly known as Mount Union College (or as Dean Taylor can testify, I once referred to it as the ArmPit of American, early on in my college days) but my next 36 years somewhat mellowed me. (It's now the beautiful sprawling University of Mount Union "The College, which is directly west and south of the Armpit of America) as well as the Birth Place of the Great and Humble American that I am.

And for those of us who need to be some where else, doing something that keeps us away from a computer (Gob forbide) and the game video, you can dial 330-445-7900, and listen to WRMU on your phone

Anybody remember this guy? Mr. Quarterback forever Watched him play all the way up thru the Cuyahoga Falls system.

Lucky I pile old papers up in the bathroom to read or I never would have seen this one.

And a wonderful article by Jim Manion of the Ravenna Record-Courier about Diamond Ohio's favorite son Mount Union's Kehres has built unmatched program Sadly the really excellent pictures that are in the newspaper are not in the online version. Jim has been following Larry's career for virtually it's entirety. I had the pleasure of sitting next to Jim in the van to Media Day and back.

(And yes, I've been up all night playing airport limo driver for my wife's family)

One last article in the Rep before the game.  I liked this quote on Seaman:

"He can throw on the move, or run the ball," Kehres said. "Last year, we had our offense set. This year, we've tailored a few things to what he can do."

I just pictured LK in a darkened room late at night dusting off some of those old Micheli/Bruney  games to start cherry picking some of his old favorites.

Dear lord. Did you raider faithful watch this?

http://athletics.mountunion.edu/sports/fball/video/2010-08-26_13-29-46_877.flv

Seaman looks like a five-year-old pulled from behind a parent's leg and asked about recess.

-"Be nice to have Brandon out there?"
-Yeah. Yeah... Yup.
-"You a little more comfortable with him?"
-"Yeah."

Pause.

-"And Heath too? I mean, you have two preseason All-Americans with Heath and Cecil."
-"Yeah."
-"That should be a--"
-"Yeah"
-"--confidence builder with everybody."
-"Yeah. Yeah. Def-- Definitely having some guys back... definitely helps."
I wish they could do a better job of protecting the mic from the wind.  Wind noise was way too distracting and annoying.

When I was on campus several years ago taking education courses, there was always an eerie blue gray light coming from LK's office, no matter the hour

This is small college sports. Check out the Sam Kershaw interview that sounds like Foghorn Leghorn is clearing his throat in the background (:>)

I think we graduated the same year seventies so you surely remember that old light blue pick up truck that he drove.  I think it was a little Nissan.  Strangers probably thought that thing was broken down in the spots in front of Timken because it seemed to never leave!

p.s. The Raiders have arrived in Oshkosh.  Checking out the field.

BTW-The Mogadore McDonald's is open till 1:00 Am and Speedway doesn't have a restaurant. Cow tipping is a Brimfield activity.

And there is good football EVERYWHERE in Mogadore

I kind of suspected that survey had ties to you, sir (beyond the obvious). For one, it's good writing.

Glad to hear that the MtU fans are safely gathering in up north--in time for the requisite fondu.

Go Raiders!  Can't wait!
