By the way, Y'all are welcome about the "juice" comment.  Leave it to a Mount person to think I was talking about Steroids!  (Mount is a bunch of pimply backed juiceheads anyway... always have been!) :)

The OAC would be 27-4 (87%) if you did not count head to head OAC matchups in the playoffs since the expansion.  The losses would be BW to Wheaton, MUC to Rowan, MUC to SJU, and MUC to UMHB.  ONU is 3-0 in non-Mount playoff games, JCU is 3-0 in non-Mount playoff games, BW is 1-1 in non-Mount playoff games and lastly CAP is 2-0 (duh) in non-Mount playoff games.

OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

JK,
Seems as though I have done my homework on the two teams then haven't I?  Although, if you would have asked me the same question at mid-season (prior to certain injuries) I would have said Mount would have ran a deep pass to Garcon. Reasons for this...
1. The O-line was not playing like they are now.
2. Garcon is their homerun threat and in a big game it is nice to "Start Fast," (That would be a quote from the Dean of Football over at ONU).

CuFan-The missing part of your argument would be as follows: Mount should have beat Augie big and did. Capital should have beat Wabash big and didn't. POY or not Wabash is not better than Augie, probably worse.

27-4 in the playoffs, that is why the OAC is the best conference in D3

thanks RC, i knew it had to be up there

Cap also should have beat NCC big as that same Augie team
with the soft Dline beat NCC by a FG in the 9th game of the season.

cufan

Cap should of beat NCC more than they did...but I do disagree regarding Wabash.  They were not  very big but they were very fast on defense and had several very good WR to go with a POY QB.  And I would say they are much better than Auggie.

My point is MU has improved over the last few weeks because Garcon is playing and healthy.  When he didn't play the offense sputtered.

Hey, no sense arguing because if you believe Wabash is that good, it helps you believe Capital can win Saturday, and that is of course why we play the game. Bring your AAAA++++ game, wake up Rocky and lets have some fun. I actually hope for the OAC reputation that it is a hard fought close game.

PS Congratulations to the University of Akron for a MAC Championship and their first ever Bowl, thanks to one of the most exciting TV games I've seen in a long time. I'm just afraid that my wife with two degrees from Akron will want to go to the Motor City Bowl.  Detroit is an even more absurd place for a bowl game than Salem/Roanoke in December.

On the we think we're a lot better issue:  been there. done that....twice..... still lost way too many points after DESTROYING non-conference opponents.  I don't think Cap has had a TEAM effort capable of taking down MUC yet.
It surely hasn't shown in the play-offs where one would expect it to happen immediately if it was going to happen.  Perhaps it'll happen this Saturday.  If Cap can remove the offensive tackles from the game like they did at ONU, I'll give them a shot, but I don't think that has a chance of happening because as moe has already said, MUC had the best offensive line he had ever seen.
Four quarters of a defense on fire and two quarters of a sputtering MUC is what it'll take to win.  It's not in the cards.
MUC 42 Cap 24
And for the students, another full drawer of clean undies!

I'm going to be very lenient in my game score guess because I think Mount should be grateful for Cap winning last week and saving us the drive across God forsaken Indiana to Wabash. Therefore, 10-9 Mount should show them how much their good deed is appreciated.

seventiesraider

Now if Rowan could eliminate the need for anybody to drive to the lovely Philadelphia area in early December. Hint Hint

PS I was born in Alliance so I'm equally appreciative how "beautiful" Alliance is this time of year, or anytime of the year for that matter.

Off to the Friday State Championship games.

ncc/cap was about as even a game as i have seen. in fact, had ncc not lost their best offensive player in the first quarter you could argue they may have beaten cap fairly easily.  ncc was a better offense than wabash (OPOY qb also) but not  as good a defense. had there been 10 more seconds ncc would have won. there wasn't, and they didn't, all i am saying is those two teams were very, very closely matched. cap wasn't going to blow out ncc.

Ah how history has a way of repeating itself.

Not sure what you've been smokling, but it must be good.  So you're telling us that the same Wabash team that won the NCAC by barely beating 5-5 Witt and 3-7 Allegheny is better than Augie that won the CCIW?   The last time the NCAC had a better team than the CCIW would have been the late 1990's!

In looking at Cap's 2 playoff wins, I'm impressed that the Cap defense held to high powered offenses in check, but I'm more surprised in the lack of offensive output.

If Cap is going to win, they must control the LOS and create turnovers, ala ONU.  If not, it's going to get ugly.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

And if CAP doen't have five turnovers they win BIG!!! You can say if all you like but what is....is what is. The CAP D has played outstanding since the loss to Mount and I don't expect them to quit now. I am not sure the O can put up enough points to win but it WILL be a close one.
