Nice to see Cap and Berg locked in a defensive struggle.  :D One thing on the Mount game: didnt a poster say something to the effect that this was the best ONU team in recent memory? Um, how'd that work out for ya? I think this one is a far cry from Franzer et al.

Yes I quoting myself - perhaps a faux pas. Just wanted to add that I am not busting on ONU - I just think they still have a ways to go. Simmons had moments - but when you go 2 quaters w/out production (mid first through third) you have to expect to come up short. That frosh RB ONU showed some flashes as well.

St. John's knocks the tying extra point off the post in OT.

No update on the Cap game in awhile ... I figure another 30 points were scored.  Any news?

Best I can do for you is 60-50 Cap w/ 2:49 left. Granted that has been on the board for a while.

Heidelberg's website has the 60-50 listed as a final score.

Andrew Miller put up some serious video game type stats today.  30/52 for 569 yds and 7 TD.  Both Preston and Walton had 150+ yds and 2 TD.  Not enough though as the Crusaders seem to have found a QB in Hartinger (339 yds, 4 TD) to go with D'Andrea.

I praised UMU sophomore receivers. They are juniors, Brown and Collins, well done!

Raider 68

The Raiders today, young as they are, showed great composure for a big game, minimal mistakes, few penalties. They were able to control the ONU passing and running game, while generated an improved running game while controlling the LOS.

ONU will bounce back and are a very good team, but Mount was just better today, IMHO. I thought the game atmosphere was one of the best I have seen.  :)

wow...so much for in the inexperienced Mount defense.  ;) Talk about a statement game against a top ten team...ONU overrated? or Mount D just underrated?

Gotta love two full grandstands and two-deep standing all around the perimeter. That said, sorry to miss meeting Seventies #99 in all that mob. We were late arriving.

Just got back from the game at Mount.  Classic Mount vs the best team ever ONU.   I am not saying Seamen is all OAC, he is not nor does Mount have a running back that is all OAC.   I can say now that Simmons  is not all OAC, nor do they have a running back that is all OAC.   This was the best opportunity for ONU to get Mount.  They are young and do not have a great QB yet and DO NOT have a great RB.   The defense has shown some weaknesses and is very young also.  Yet today they showed what Mount is all about.  ONU is a good team, a dangerous team at that.  I expect them to win out, if they are what their fans think they are??  It was not the game I thought it was going to be.

John Carroll is awful.

Amen.  Glad I gave up the pts and took Cardinals.  If I were a Carroll player I wouldn't admit it to anyone I knew.   :P

Brown and yellow never looked so good to me with Jackets covering +20.5 pts hscoach gave Marietta!!!   ;D

Collins is a sophomore so you get half credit!
