As we embark on another journey to battle the Mighty Purple Raiders of MUC in search of another win and a quest for the Stagg Bowl may the game be filled with excitement that is OAC football.

Good luck to all players, coaches and fans!!  :)

Go Crusaders!!!!

QuoteThat is the FASTEST O-Line we faced all season not to mention probably (pound for pound) the strongest.  In my four years that has been the best MUC line that I have played against.

In the past four years that I played against Mount, I think that this is the worst line I played against.  Maybe worst is a bad way of putting it because they are very good, but I remember when I was a freshman going against Larry Kehnard.  That guy abused me and every other end we put against him.  It could be that I was younger and those guys seemed so much older and advanced than me but the line with Kehnard ( 02, 03), in my opinion, were the very best.

Having an all OAC quarter-final game brings back the real bad memories of the years ONU made two trips to town. In the preceding weeks we had to put up with the juvenile postings of the Bears followers. Now this week is almost like going to church every day.
Sorry, I can't take all this politeness.
BURY THEM MOUNT. RUN THE SCORE UP SO HIGH THE NEW BOARD SHORTS OUT
A safe trip to all traveling to Alliance.

70's ....good point on the film exchange that does make sense...Hey it has been a long time since Cap was in this situation.

Ric-I have seen those teams and am stating my opinion.  No need for the personal atacks.

Go CU

Mout Faithful,
Where is the best place for one to park?  My parents got it wrong earlier this year when the made the trip.

porbably best if you're going to arrive at 9:30ish to park near the coed dorms Bica Ross. When heading east into Alliance on State st. you'll come to the interection with a Wendy's,/Marathon gas go through that intersection to the next street(Rockhill) turn left , you will pass the pracitce fields on your right, right after the practice fields turn right. this will take you right up to the Hoover Price campus center where the brunch is, should be some parking all through that area.  Boy, Shot everything I thot about you now, with your admission to holding!!!  COMe ON! GEEZZ!!! NO WONDER YOU GUYS WON HERE LAST TIME!!! MAN!!! hehehehe, just kidding! Any decent D-lineman has to be a graduate of Conrad Dobler's of Etiquette. I'll look for ya at the brunch, i'll assume you'll be the one HOLDING two trays with 3 plates on each and a Polar Bear on your coat!!!
JK
AWWWW man! was hoping to catch up with ya too, hope everything is alright!

Dress warm tomorrow. I sat through two high school championship games today and sold my tickets for the third because my son couldn't take another one and still get up and come tomorrow. It is brutal outside and it may be worse tomorrow except I think the snow will stop. Forcast says it should feel like 22 degrees, it felt far worse than that today.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Ric

mtfan ... same place tonight ... later than last time I think ... A D3 celebrity will be in town.

cufan ... your travels are impressive ... if in fact you made them.  But your opinion that Mount Union beat Mount St. Joseph like they did because MSJ is bad, despite the fact they have won every regular season game they have played minus one OT loss over the last two years and that they beat Augustana like they did is because the Augie Dline is soft despite the fact the Vikings went unbeaten in one of the best conferences in the league, is not.  Maybe they beat those teams like they did because they are pretty good.

And you calling B-W horrible takes the cake.  B-W was not horrible, they were average.  And they were that because they were playing minus 7 starters by the end of the year.  Their injury situation was ridiculous this year.  And even with that they were not horrible.  They were outscored 16-14 per game.  That is not horrible.  So just how many games did you see this year?

cufan

Injuries or not  BW was not a very good football team at 4-6 and a loss to the Muskies prove that.

Was MSJ a good team, I know they did well in their  league but where would you put them in the OAC?

Do you think that Auggie had a good D line?  Again I know they won the league but are  my statements off the mark?

Just my observations on people saying MU has improved so much since the regular season.  I just feel like they have improved because they have the biggest playmaker in the league on the field...... not because they have beaten excellent teams like a drum..

Good luck to both teams and safe travels for everyone.

cufan,
What I saw of Mount Union mid-season was depressing.  There were at least two games where they looked like their mind was somewhere else...rather lackluster.  That is why they lost to ONU.    If Mount keeps playing like they did against Augie, and that is a big if, there could be no stopping them.   The Raiders' biggest opponent is in their own minds.    If they are focused and execute, look out!   If not, well...we all saw what happened against ONU.      ;)

cufan--what team that lost to who that MUC barely beat really doesn't matter. MUC-RAIDER makes some good points but for the Raiders to loose, 2 things have to happen. 1. The other team has to play their best game! 2. Purple has to beat themselves. As HSCoach earlier stated, any other scenario and it's ANOTHER Mount Union A$$ kicking.  That means a  "W"  and that is the only thing that matters 8)

cufan

Great points except for the a$$ kicking part........

purpled

muc-raider - I can't remember a Mount playoff game ever being lackluster! Mount's biggest opponent will be in the Stagg Bowl!

jdean - I'm with you! Short out the scoreboard!

Frankly, Cap does not have the guns to win. Their offense will get smothered and their defense will be running around in circles. Mount has a way of doing that to teams that they have played once in the regular season.

Hammer - Drive 'em crazy!!

Ric, Thanx for the backing.  We had a lot of injuries this year, not using that as an excuse but come on we went thru 3 different QBs, 5 starting d linemen, 3 O linemen. It was a rough season to say the least.  Hopefully this season will lead to a few changes in the program so we can get back to the top.

muc-raider

purpled,
I didn't say that Mount Union had a lackluster playoff game.  I said they played a couple of games that way this season.  Let's hope we never see them play a lackluster playoff game.      ;)
