Question:  If things stay the same in the regional ranks will Mt. have to travel for a playoff game assuming they are undefeated?

Assuming they stay in the North? Probably not either way, but I'm guessing we're The Beast of the East again

OK is the glass half full or half empty? I think it's way more than half full.

A look at yesterdays stats

Colton Coy 45 yards on 24 attempts 1.9 average Longest 9 yards (was averaging 114 yds per game)
Schlosser 10-23 for 78 yards 2 ints
Dominic Jones 3 punt returns for 15 yards 4 kickoff returns for 84   0 td's (was averaging 36 yds a return)

If nothing else, we ruined Colton Coy's chances of beating the all-time rushing record at OttU

Jeremy Murray 179 total yards offense     Otterbein 138

Mount pounded the ball at Ott all day and lived on the Ott side of the field most of the second half.

Lets give them some credit, the Cards are a good football team

Bushman,

If Mount were seeded #2 in the North behind either North Central or Wheaton, they would play the quarter final game away, assuming the team at #1 seed won as well. But as Seventies stated they will probably moved to the East, AGAIN! IMHO, Mount will be the #1 in either the North or East, assuming they win the final 2 games! :)

Maybe this happens:

West: UWW
North: UMU
South: UMHB/Hampden-Sydney
East: Wesley

Just thinking that if Wesley stays undefeated, this might be the year they get shipped out (it makes sense when you consider travel costs).

I could not agree more.  We are spoiled.  This is a good football team and will play in Virginia.

Results for Week 9 have been posted.

Spreads for week 10 will be posted later tonight.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

reality check

I was looking at the OAC stats and wonder this question (out loud):

Could Mount end up without a QB, RB or WR on the first team All-OAC?

I think Heidelberg's Andrew Miller has a legit shot at QB (with Simmons as another possibility) based on numbers alone.

The RB's could be (should be?) Donley and Coy.

Cecil will probably still get the vote since we all know what he can do but he's currently 7th in the conference in receiving yards, at least 11th in receptions and third in receiving TD's.  Preston from the Berg and Ryan Gunnarson from CAP have pretty solid numbers this year.

Kyle Miller is probably the easy choice at TE but the other O skill positions are very much up for debate.

Also the Woods kid is turning into a stud up in Tiffin.  He's averaging 6.6 YPC with 8 TD's and getting better and better.  He could end up having a real nice career for Coach Hallett.

Speaking of Kyle Miller.....I watched him throughout the OC/UMU game.  He's a load.  Excellent blocker with great hands.  The TD on the Seaman scramble was neat to observe.  He kept working in the endzone until Neal found him.  He's got a chance to play for pay.  Remember when he came to Mount....didn't know whether he would end up with a number in the 80's or 70's.

just looked at the stats and am wondering why Seaman wouldnt be the first team QB?  for as bad as everyone on these boards say he is, his leading the conference in most of the passing stats.  I also wouldnt look past Murray at RB, if he keeps getting 30+ carries for the next two games he will likely lead the conference in most rushing stats.

might be a good thing for the conference, in terms of national perception, if Mount didnt dominate every skill position.  have to admit it seems a little strange to think of so many Berg players being considered

The big reason for the domination is that great O-Line and D-line. No one else can compete with them so all the skill guys look amazing. Seaman had so much time to pass is was unreal. Anybody can get open in that time. The other QB's get NO TIME to pass and it makes them run for their lives. The key is upfront and UMU domintes there.

so seaman gets punished for having good teammates, while others get rewarded because their teammates don't help them out?

NOPE !!! Not at all, just trying to give credit to the linemen who never get any. Seaman should make some type of honor but they can't put the entire UMU team on there. Well, they could, and I am sure you would not mind.  ;)

Would like to add that #4 is going to get hurt if he continues to lead with his helmet on most tackles.
