Just off topic for a moment to thank my fellow Veterans for their sacrifice and service. I'll be joining a band of my brothers for a motorcycle ride to Canton today. (Free lunch at Applebees)

Chili's has free meals today for Veterans also.  You should go there for Dinner!

Meeting at a different Applebees, although the irony of riding in on 15-20K motorcycles for our free meal kinda struck me as odd. There are a lot of veterans sleeping under bridges and begging on street corners, the ones who really never came home.
I guess two years of my life for a free $12 meal would stick many as odd as well

Thanks to all the Vets, but especially to you 70's and all who served in Vietnam; you never received the respect you deserved.

Yea, what he said
There was a recruiter wearing a Special Ops beret in Applebees today shaking hands and thanking everyone. I seldom cry, but...........

Seventiies,

From one veteran to another, Best wishes and enjoy the ride!

For most of us it's a lost cause, but don't forget to post your picks for the regular season finale in the OAC pick-ems.

Just trying to keep in shape for the Playoff Pick-Em.  I'm already tied for first in that contest!
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Sad news from Muskingum that I stumbled onto on ESPN.com...

Musky softball coach passes away

She was the winningest coach in D-III softball history.

The Musky community, OAC and NCAA lost a good one today.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

So sad to hear. What a great coach. Her record speaks for itself. My sympathies to the Newberry family and the Musky community.

I dated a girl from musky when I was in college...the main reason she went there to school instead of bw was that coach. I heard she was a wonderful person who treated her players very well. Sorry to hear about her passing.

Given this large Orange thing that has inhabited my posts all season, I feel I should acknowledge Heidelberg's progress to a probable 5-5 team this year after 0-10 and three 4-6 seasons in the past 5 years. An amazing feat after losing an beloved assistant coach a week into the season and despite having no discernible defense.

On another topic, who walks away with the Rust Bowl this year in Cleveland? Will BW play it out for a great season or will John Carroll play like they have nothing to lose and trip up the Pile? It seems like there is never any logic to the winner of this series.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the lock down at Mount Union?  Checked the Review and saw nothing.  Got word from a parent whose kid goes to Mount about the lock down.

I'm on faculty here and there is no lock down that I am aware of.  No email or emergency phone notice has gone out.  People are wandering around outside even as I type this.

I just found out that I may be coming back home to Ohio for the Bayliss Football Camp in June.  I don't have any details yet but it's pretty cool to be told that you'll be getting an email from a 14-year NFL vet.

Even cooler is the fact that I attended the Byars-Bayless football camp as a kid and might get to return the favor.

Still missing a bunch of picks.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

S/b along the south wall with Terry Taylor just west of the main entrance. Any excuse to ride the motorcycle tomorrow. If anyone want to chaperon me at the Hood for some Cheeseburgers after the half, I'm sure I'll be game
