Don't think I didn't notice that this was the only board where you didn't add "if you're up to it"!  You Mount guys are getting a bit full of it! ;D

While the last five Staggs have been excellent football games, I'm really, really, really hoping that someone takes out one or both of you before Salem!  (My preference, of course, would be that NCC deals with UWW, and Wheaton takes you out! ;D  Extremely unlikely, but I can dream, can't I?! :o :D)

Mr. Ypsi,

If the Raiders fail to make it to the Stagg, it will not be at the hands of Wheaton! :)

Well, matter of opinion.  They are NOT likely to lose to anyone in their bracket, and on my entry I have (against the odds) Wheaton winning the 'west', so (by my demented picks) the only one who can keep them from Salem is Wheaton. :D

That's because everyone in here is required by law to participate!

In regards to your hope of new teams in Salem, I can understand that.  I also hope we don't have another UWW/MTU final.  It's getting kind of old for us too.   If Mount drops a game, then I really hope Whitewater is knocked out too.

Guess the Mount/Whitewater thing has officially become a rivalry for me because I hope they DON'T win it as much as I hope that Mount does.

Whitewater, the new Rowan.  :D  (I take it back; the Warhawks are better than that.)

Article on a local QB getting a look from Mount Union:

Playoffs last time to shine for Springstead QB Beeker

Nice find MW. Thanks for sharing +K

I went and saw him play tonight in the first round of the playoffs.  His team runs a version of the veer option (something that LK is VERY familiar with LOL).  I saw him come out of the locker room at half time and he is pretty small (5'6" 150 maybe) but very quick and wasn't afraid to run the ball inside against a very big opponent.  He also made a nice pitch on an option (got killed by a 6' 225 lb. DE) and his RB took it 50+ yards for a TD.  I don't think he would come in and make an immediate impact for the Raiders, but could come in and be a good player his Jr. or Sr. year.

His team won 40-8 vs. a team that IMO was more athletic and definitely bigger than them, but the opponent had a difficult time defending the veer option.

Being right in a hotbed of hs football, I'm wondering why Kent and Akron have such trouble?

I'd suggest you look no further than the rosters of both schools. I have always been insulted that they both think they have to build a team by totally ignoring the talent that is available locally. Kent has some local walk-on's but the bulk of the scholarship money goes to kids from New Jersey. Freaking New Jersey. Heidelberg recruits harder in Northeast Ohio than either of those two do

Why would I go to watch a team that I have zero vested interest in? Didn't go there and never heard of anybody on the team. Of course I'm from a village of 3,600, which bought 2,400 tickets to watch Mogadore beat McDonald. High School football is a family/community thing in these parts.

I'm expressing my concern for the Mount Union cheerleader who, by having Muskingum and Saint Lawrence back to back could be looking at around 555 pushups in an 8 day period of time. :o

There is talk on the NCAC board that nobody shows the NCAC any respect. Please Polar Bears, do your best to prove them right. No Respect for the Rodney Dangerfield Conference

whats going on in the d3 football world this year, first Mount and UWW get jobbed by the NCAA selection comittee and now the OAC awards and all-conferences teams?  there are going to be some externally motivated players in alliance and whitewater this postseason

might be tough to see from the endzone fence, but some Mount cheerleaders are lucky its not a lap around the track for each point

Hey take it easy on the flashes,   post graduate studies 73-74,   went to dix every saturday in the fall and watched jack lambert play mlb for the flashes.   I believe don james was the coach.  They had  a pretty good football team at that time.

How did Mount get jobbed by the selection committee?  I'd say they are pretty much where they ought to be this year.
