UMUdad:  Welcome aboard.

On the penalties in the Marlington /Dover game, that was just crazy.  For anyone back in Alliance listening to Harry & I, the phantom calls were even more questionable than we said on the air.  It was very weird.
thanks HScoach, and raider68-btw raider68 you and I seem to have something in common ;) and coach? those were the most
nonsensical, illogical refs in the marlington game I have EVER seen- im old, i played six years, watched my kid"s games for 13yrs, filmed/scouted for his high school team-i'm gonna buy the akson paper just to see what they say and the penalty situation was

AWFUL, trying to take a knee and you toss a flag
-ok, it's almost time for another flipping 380 mile trip home
FWIW the o-line seems to be reasonably healthy after playing 11 weeks and I have to say the o-line coach is quite a
character-here's hoping for NOT hideous weather the next few saturdays AND getting to see LK get 34 more wins (in person)

UMUplayerdad,

We spent some time in Western Michigan. Our son graduated from Portage Central HS (one of the premier schools there, IMHO). He is also a Mount alum. I follow several of the MIAA schools as well. but as an an alum and former player, support the the Raiders always! :)

A tip of the hat to the P-Bears for totally manhandling Wittenberg. Despite not having a great deal of respect for the Bergers, they did win 10 games and A conference, and it is the playoffs, so credit is due. The Larries had more rushing yards than Witt

How many coaches win 300 of 325 games?  Larry Kehres just did it.
Congratulations to Coach Kehres and all the Purple Raiders who helped make it possible.

RUNYR --www.cantonrep.com said of Kehres Saturday 11-20-2010 with his  300 wins that he is simply the best.Hells Bells I have been saying that about coach Kehres for the last 15 years ! Larry Kehres is just like Smuckers peanut butter and Smuckers jelly "SIMPLY THE BEST".So is his Mount Uinon Football teams at 300 wins-22-lost -3 tied.Mr kehres /Mount Union both are "SIMPLY UNREAL"

I come up a little short of 92.7% using the half victory formula for ties, 92.3 if you ignore them.

What's it mean that the Wabash HC was at the Mount game, probably that it's Thanksgiving week and Erik and Liz are both MUC grads

Erik is Larry's nephew.   There was a lot of family at the game.

I knew that. I was just trying to stir up the NCAC posters about why the Wabash coach didn't show up for Wittenberg humiliating Ohio Northern  :o, other than the fact that it didn't happen. ::)

Congrats to Raiderpa on the open mic faux pas, but that was an exciting move on the punt.

Maybe our one St Larry fan can give us some background on the rugby punter. Given, even Mathie uses that when trying to place a punt in a spot but all I could think was keeping the ball away from Shorts and other Mount returners.

Congratulations to the long suffering Marlington fans on a very exciting win last night (in between the hankies)

St. Lawrence has been using the rugby punt all season, so not a special adjustment for this game.  The punter is the all around player, so it gives him a chance to run for it if there is a chance (did it several times this year).

Congrats to UMU for manhandling St. Lawrence.  Don't think we really expected to do much against you guys, but it is still impressive to hold a team to under 100 yds on offense.  Good luck in the rest of the playoffs.

STlarry, you and your fans showed nothing but class. I hope it was worth the trip. Gotta be fun the first time. (My first time was miserable, all the way to Camp Randall Stadium in Wisconsin, freezing cold with no working bathrooms) Hope the young men took in the experience and realized that there is nothing magical about Mount Union, (perhaps the glint in LK's eye) just hard work.

I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that the skinny kid from Diamond Ohio that showed up on campus in 1967 is now among the elite coaches of all time

After spending a little time researching the ONU NCC match-up I think it might be the best match-up of the playoffs. Both teams offensive strengths are matched by the the other's defensive strength. Hopefully the bright lights of Napierville aren't as distracting for ONU as the big city of Lima was for Wittenberg

Stlarry,

Hope you enjoyed the visit to Mount Union and the long drive was worth the commitment. As Seventies mention St. Lawrence and its fans displayed a lot of class. Best wishes for the Saints next season!+k  :)
