Anyone heard how Coach V .Kehres's interview with UWL went? :-\

Check out the WIAC page Raider 69 - there is a link to an article in the La Crosse Tribune posted, along with links to articles about the other candidates, too.  ;)

BoBo,

Thanks, just saw it! :)

Although the D1 National signing day doesn't directly affect DIII, I look to see who is pulling in kids from where. The new Kent State coach looked a lot more local signing 13 of 18 from Ohio as opposed to 7 of 20 the previous year and even signed a Kent Roosevelt QB. The signings that worry me are schools like Lake Erie and Notre Dame College who pull almost exclusively out of the local talent pool.

I guess the race for the remaining talent is officially on now

Here in Michigan, actually over in West Michigan, some of the huge regional sports radio talk show hosts put together a special program for today i.e. the day after "National Signing Day" with a couple of the coaches who are the coordinators for high school football in that area for the MHSAA in which they had all the signees in for the day for the communities in showing their support.  Fans, friends, parents and the general public were invited in.  The neat thing about it is that they also included all those players from the area high schools who chose and/or were going DIII football, even though, as we know, they don't have actual signings for that nor the athletic scholarships.  Nonetheless, they wanted to include these players to be recognized along with their teammates, former opponents they played against.  Also, in part so these guys could socialize together one more time before going their own separate ways to their respective schools; and again, as a nice recognition and event for the various smaller communities where all these players came from.  I thought it was a nice gesture on the part of the radio station sports announcers as well as the coaches who helped support this.  They definitely wanted to include student-athlete football players who were going to all 3 divisions.

Recruiting report.......Jimmy Luther is headed to Ashland.   :(

His name is not on the list of recruits Ashland released today.

Maybe they bailed on him at the 11th hour?  I know he has had one surgery, and is waiting to have his other new scoped as well.  I know for darn sure we would take him!

He's on their latest list.  Darn......

Beiners

Had planned to make the trip to watch the Raider ladies play, but had to take a false alarm trip to the emergency room. Tests confirmed I'm old, fat and out of shape, but have great insurance. Enough phony scrambled eggs and imitation coffee for a lifetime

Seventies,

Do not shovel any snow, stop eating the "Big Macs", drink Tea vs. coffee, take your meds, no pitching in spring games and above all, keep posting, take care, OK ;D ;D

And.......we have a home game against the Ladies Pile at the MAAC on the 16th. Should be great if we take care of business between now and them. Sounds like a chance to break out your best purple clothes in mid-winter.

68-Interesting I was plowing snow on the John Deere prior to the storm that didn't happen and over did it. Not quite ready for rice cakes yet, but a gradually increasing exercise program is in my future along with some improvements in my diet (AFTER SUNDAY). Post surgery computer potato for too long.

Raider Women BB continues to win, tied for conference lead. The showdown at home with B-W will decide the conference, IMHO unless something else happens. GO RAIDERS! :)
