Will UMU now be a 10 point underdog to the Fish ?? ::) :'( 8-)

It depends on how much alcohol is in the house!  ::)

By the "Principle of Comparative Scores" they should now be a 12-point underdog!  AND a 1-point dog to Wilma, who only lost to Musky by 11! ;D

From Lenny's pictures, the field looked like War Memorial,,,,with actual stands
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

From the perspective of someone who attended the game:
- It was very obvious that both teams were wary, downright against throwing the ball while they were going south-north.  With the wind coming in straight south and the worst field conditions for a college football game that I have ever seen,  it was a very obvious gameplan.
- Its a good thing that ONU doesn't play at home again for a few weeks
- Jeremy Murray is a beast, who showed a ton of heart today.  He was covered in mud from head to toe from the get go.
- The final score was not indicative of the way the game was played.  Mount dominated the first three quarters.  ONU's TD was the result of the QB being hit as he threw and the wounded duck found an ONU receiver who scrambled to find the endzone.
- ONU is a solid team, but in a non-backyard Mud Bowl game, Mount rolls ONU, 28+ points
- ONU get field turf
- Any chance an 8-2 ONU team makes the playoffs?

Mount Union's advantage over teams in the OAC is its speed.  The field took that advantage away and made the teams much more evenly matched.  THe second QB from ONU did a great job and I wonder why he wasn't in earlier.  A win is a win...but Piloto led them to the first score and I wonder why we did not see more of him. Seemed like we knew they would not score so sat on it quite a bit.

Ric and his mystery man never stopped with the mud talk and "you can't read Murray's number" http://athletics.mountunion.edu/sports/fball/2011-12/releases/20111001uctelb

I can clearly read "24" in the only picture I've seen.  I see no mud in that picture.

ONU's field was absolutely horrible.  I had a chance to walk the field prior to the game. It was clear that ONU wanted the game played in the mud. The sideline protection mats where removed. The band was allowed to march on the field to help make help make the field condition worst.  The grass was cut extremely long to help slow down the team. In spite of all this Mount Union adjusted and did what it took to win. Muskingum just because you where able to score more points during ideal conditions against ONU, that was your season.
- Regarding ONU making the playoffs, not a chance.

It's hard to imagine a field in worse shape than the '93 semi-final game vs St. Johns in Alliance

Is the ONU field used by other teams (H.S. soccer, etc.)? :-\

Awwww. Did your precious purple panty raiders get their outfits muddy??? Can't believe all the crying about field conditions.. This is football. Played on natural grass in different weather conditions.. You guys must just love arena league football pllayed indoors, under cozy conitions. Quit crying and give ONU some credit for playing a great game.

Another equipment manager heard from. I think you'll find that Larry Kehres and Mount Union have a very deep respect for ONU and their friend Dean Paul. As for us fans, mud and crappy field conditions are not necessarily an great part of the game. Granted a decade ago, playoff games happened in Alliance on frozen mud after the tarps were pealed off and ripped off the grass. The ONU defense played an inspired game as you will see if you bother to read some posts.
