I have alot of freinds and family that would like to go to the game Saturday. Do you think tickets at the gate will be an issue? If so do you have any suggestions. Thank you.
A friend who works in Admissions told me they have the biggest visitation group of the year coming in and that they have requests for over 1,000 tickets.  She's concerned because Admissions is not able to get 1,000 + tickets for the game.  I think it will be SRO on Saturday.  You should be able to call (330) 829-4100 to order tickets.  If you want a number of seats together it's a good idea to do so.  All seating in Mount Union Stadium is reserved.

Where is this large "visitation group" coming from?  There have been very few (if any) games in the  last 15 years that were so full that people couldn't get tickets.  I will be very surprised if it's any different this Saturday.  I don't think B-W travels that well if previous years are any indication.  I know this year there will be more excitement due to B-W's record, so maybe there will be a bigger crowd.

Wow, all the years I've stood I never bought a SRO ticket. Somehow Terry and I can usually get Secton 18 row 1 Seats 1 or 2.  I'll never understand why anyone sits down

The "will call" gate always has what they call "garbage tickets."  I think Sec 18, Row 1, seat 1&2 qualify.  :)

Where are they coming from?  All over.  They are prospective students and their families.  Also, I never said there would not be tickets available at the gate.  I said if our friend from BW wants a large number together he should call ahead as there could be a big crowd.  If I'm wrong and only 3,000 show up he'll still be happy.

The attendence for this year's John Carroll game was 6,252.  Since the stadium seats 5,529 that sounds like SRO to me.  I hope BW coming in at 7-1 will draw a similar crowd.  Who knows?

5529 sounds like sounds like SRO since you can't see anything from the first three rows on the home side or the first five rows on the visitor side.

PS as well as I know the AD, he doesn't like to give away anything, unless they play a skill position.

He can have my Section 18 row 1 seats a and b if ya don't mind the line for the concession stand in front of you

Given 3355 at Finnie last Saturday, I don't don't think I'll sweat SRO

If the crowd is above the stated capacity, more B-W fans will have to make the trip. Weather should not
be a factor! :)

So then tickets at the gate may be a problem afterall. One thing I never understood about Mount is the "lack" of attendance. I went to Hiram for my undergrad. No one went to a game unless it was Mount. Granted then it was to see Mount. But no one went because you knew Hiram was getting waxed. I can kinda understand not going because they know Mount will win (I have had several students say that) - but man at least you get to go to a great game and see your team win. I took my daughter to a playoff game a couple years back, and a friend of mine met us there and he was amazed we could just walk up to the gate - get a ticket - and walk right in. No issues with parking, lines, seating. He said it was a BIG difference since he is used to OSU games. Granted he also said it was a better game for a fraction of the price.

This is something that has amazed me for years.. apparently you have to lose to endear yourself to the fans. When did winning become a reason for not going to a game???
Having witnessed this for my self try to explain how St. Johns manages to put 7000 in the stands for every game even when the opponent is not top level? Add St. Thomas or Bethel to the mix and you get 10,000 plus. Even this year when they are having a down year the people still come. St Johns is out in the middle of nowhere and 70-80 miles from Minneapolis and the people still come. Tailgating is very special and the setting is beautiful with a natural bowl stadium ..... and they still come.
Mount needs to start loosing now so we can get those people who want to see them loose before making the commitment to drive 15-70 miles to see a top notch team play.
Instead, let's jump in our cars and motor on up to Cleveland and pay hundreds of dollars to see the Browns play "at" football. Sounds like more fun to me......RIGHT? >:(
Come on Raiders do your part and start that loosing streak this week in front of a sell out crowd of spoiled fans. ;D
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

HScoach

Ohio State games have a big impact on Mount attendance.  Which is why night games draw often draw much better.  And the playoff game up against OSU/Michigan is one of the worst attended.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

ExTartanPlayer

The OSU note brings up a good point; attendance at Division III games is largely influenced by the presence/absence of a) professional teams, b) big-time college teams, and c) big-time high-school teams.

In locations with a major-college team or even a primo high-school program, the "casual" fan is more likely to gravitate towards those teams for their football fix than than towards a Division III team.

raiderguy, no one is seriously suggesting that UMU has to lose games for the sake of improving attendance.  However, it stands to reason that a "casual" fan (i.e. someone who's neither an alum nor a parent of a current player), given the choice between watching UMU blast Wilmington by 60 or staying home and watching his choice of six major-college games, is going to chooise the latter.

OK Raiderguy, but nobody went when we were in school because they lost all the time. As I remember,Coach Wuske convinced me to quit so I didn't get hurt for Track, who won all the time

NATE: The Browns are trying out running backs

I have long thought Nate could make it but I am not sure the Browns are the team that knows how to use him. A friend of mine wants the Browns to make a move for Pierre - I say no way! Put Pierre or Nate with Cleveland and they will be out of the league in 5 years. However, put them with a team that knows how to use them and has stability (Indy, Patriots, Steelers, etc.) - meaning they don't have a revolving door at the Head Coach and GM spots - and they will do well. Nate is built like Woodhead and could do some great things for the right team. In Cleveland he could make the squad - and then sit the bench watching the Brownies stumble, maybe getting a shot at special teams. I doubt they would use him. No offense to Nate at all - I love watching him play and think he could do it. However - all offense to the Browns - 50 years of mediocrity and head scratching!

Yah....about that.  The Browns HAVE no offense, other than offending people with their putrid display of the "West Coast Offense".  (I am already beginning to hate that moniker.)

Anybody have a Nate sighting these days?
