reality check

With all this talk about Kmic, who I am impressed with as well, the Raiders get to put up or shut up against one of the best defenses in the country statistically in Rowan.  Rowan sits ninth overall in total defense in Division III allowing just 252.5 yards per game.  The Profs sit at 4th in the nation in rushing defense giving up just 65.5 yards per game.

Now as impressive as those ranks are, I need to recognize the fact that Mount Union already beat the #3 rush defense in the country and #3 total defense in the country last week in Capital.  (Great season Crusaders!  The Defense has been amazing.)

Oh yeah, and Mount Union happens to rank ahead of both of these very good defenses in total defense.  (Yeah the empire is crumbling.)

One question......Is Muskingum ever going to be a powerhouse??  I mean do they have a chance?

e_lee

When I was at Capital(98-02), especially early on, I always thought Muskingum was close to breaking through.  I think with the right facilities it is a campus and location that could recruit well.  Had I visited Muskingum, I may have serioulsy considered going there.

Congratulations to Capital football coach Jim Collins for being named AFCA regional coach of the year.

This honor is well deserved.

Go CAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

southofoac:

Does Musk. have a chance.  They might be decent in the future but they are not even close to the Cap, ONU, and MUC of the OAC.  As far as playoffs are concerned with them, until they can beat the top of the OAC, no playoffs should even be questioned.    So really they have no cahnce as of now.  In ten years, it might be different, but in the near future, no

What time do you usually show up down on the sideline? I usually show up down on the sideline around 10:50 before game time to meet with the ref"s. Maybe I will see you down there unless you are shorter than RIC then you would be hard to pick out.

HURF

I'm down there usually right before kickoff as I'm doing our pregame show in the campus center starting at 11:15.  I usually get down on the field around 11:50 or so.  How long are you down there? If you are looking for me I usually have a microphone and my most recognizable feature is my goatee.
The impossible CAN happen and eventually it WILL happen.

I work the chains so I won't be hard to find. I probably have seen you down there. Last week I ran into the guy carring the camera for WVIM.

Hey...here's an actual football related question...

What region will be the "home team" in this year's Stagg Bowl?

The N/E rep or the S/W rep?

Wouldn't the highest seed remaining be the "host" team??  And if even seeds, then it would be decided by bracket rankings??  west 1 east 2 north 3 south 4

Not sure.                GO PROFS!!!!!!!!!!!!

raiderguy

I hope it is MUC as the home team. I saw WW play ST. John's a couple of weeks ago and it was weird because they have similar black Jerseys to ours.  You can see them in some of the game photos in the front page. When I walked into the stadium I thought Mount had been rescheduled to Wisconsin.

It would be like competing with yourself if they end up in black, assuming we both make it to Salem.

I am trying to relive my youth and am playing on a 6-man tackle football team and we have a rules meeting on Saturday that is mandatory. So unfortunately, I will not be listening. Just rushing home after the meeting to check the score.

Maybe we should follow Whitewater's lead and give away student tickets. Apparently they have a sponsor who bought 1000 to give away. Unfortuately, finals start on Monday and a lot of students will be home and/or studying this Saturday so student attendance may be minimal.

Wow, things have changed since I was in school. Students are now studying for finals?  :o
