Just when I thought I may have been gone too long, I realized that I may not have been gone at all?!?  It's like Groundhog's Day in here.  Doeder jokes still flow like the finest boxes of wine in Alliance refrigerators.  Skunks, HS Coach, RC Cola, and the rest of the gang are still debating which member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour is the coolest.

Mount Union may have become a university but still keeps one or two OAC contests close each fall as to not lose conference membership.  Capital went from fool ('99, '00), to cool ('03-'07), and now resides in the mediocrity pool.  BW is like that kid we all knew in high school who dated the hot chick, but they never kissed.  Seems fun from a distance but has to get old after a while.  Heidelberg just became the best college team in Tiffin.  Seriously, how is that other school in town a D2 school?  Otterbein's fall from grace was "Fast and Furious", which was also likely the favorite movie of the mullet dude in the previous posts.  Northern still seems to be well coached but having NCAA rules enforced really slowed things down in Ada.  I think we all owe Wilmington a thank you card for creating an "off week" in the OAC schedule.  As a team, it is always refreshing to be able to play badly and win.  It means you can take Thursday night a little more seriously.  Muskingum and Marietta beat Wilmington and I will bet that half of the parents of the players involved didn't even bother showing up to those contests.  Obviously, another JCU season of mediocrity is painful.  Not as painful as having spent three years in college with Dodder, but painful nonetheless.

As the season concludes, just remember that each of your loved ones will still appreciate you spending countless hours on Post Patterns despite the fact that there is nothing to talk about in January, February, March, April, and so on...  They recognize that the alternative involves you talking to them about the prospects of the Purple Raiders returning to Salem in 2012...or about whether next winter will be the year that the scoreboard Christmas card goes back out to the Polar Bear faithful...or if Capital will ever be the same without Jim Collins... or if BW and Wyoming should be removed from the NCAA strictly to improve appearance...

To those of you who are married, continue to type away!  I know your wife appreciates it.  For those of you who are not, don't worry!  The girl on the other end of that website will always love you more than a real woman can.

On a serious note, I do miss some of you knuckleheads.  Stay classy...

Otterbein lost 5 of its 7 games by a total of 20 pts, neither fast nor furious. All those teams had to play their best to win, only The Berg and UMU beat up on the Bein.

This was a fun post to read however. Have a great holiday season !

Can you believe that Mounts gone 4 straight games now without scoring a touchdown in the first quarter??? I guess Mount and the Browns do have one thing in common :D

purple

4-U...I like BW's colors. They have always been a bunch of hot dogs and the yellow mustard and hot dog brown pants and jerseys call this to mind in a subtle yet effective way. The yellow mustard piping on their brown game pants is a nice touch. I do have a question for BWs...is the brown a bratwurst brown or a bun color? There is urban legend the colors were fixed by a wealthy alumni whose first job was selling hot dogs near the stadium in old Berea.

4u:

I join the others in saying it is great to have you return to make a post on here.  It has been a while. Welcome back, at least for the off-season if you are still coaching.  Also, with regards to our wives, I guess you are right in that they see it as the lesser of two or more evils?! ;D :o ::) :-X)i.e. it beats the alternative(s) for what some of us would (or should I say could or might) be doing if we weren't here pounding away on the keyboard with posting in our "free time", particularly in the off-season. ;D  Anyway, hope you are doing well.  Don't make it so long between posts, unless you absolutely have to due to "regulations". ;)
