Does anyone know why Skiliter did not play last week?  Only Murray and Simon carried the ball and Simon only 4 carries.  Wabash saw a very limited version of Mount's running game.

shhh....Wabash's defense was too good for Mount to run out any backs other than Murray and Simon.  I think it might have been more that LK wanted his #1 back to carry the ball while running the clock.

Wesleydad, we'll still be getting together friday night. The wings and beer are too good to pass up, lol. Need an idea how many will be coming as we'll try to reserve enough space.
Saintsfan, hope to see you there too as Theaprof will have some wings you'll have to try  :P ;)

I won't be able to make it this weekend either, mtfan... The lady ordered some furniture and they are delivering on Saturday.  I don't want to leave her alone and have to deal with that.  I'll have to raincheck it... for the fall of 2012.

QuoteI think he is saying that if Wesley's defense gives up two TD's not MU's defense scoring TD's....

-Ski

You are correct - that's what I meant even though I didn't write it very well.  BashDad would be correct that the game would be a bit of a laugher if MU's defense can score two touchdowns on us.  Don't look for that to happen though.

Anyone heard any updates on Matt Piloto availability for Saturday? :-\

Gotcha.  I'm picking Mount.  LK will find enough offense to go with that fast, disciplined defense.

This is really anyone's game to win. Wesley has been impressive knocking off the #5 and # 4 teams in successive weeks. I believe this will be the best "overall" team Mount has faced so far this year.

IMO, Piloto is the key. I honestly don't think we can't afford to become one dimensional like the 2nd half of the Wabash game. I know LK packed it in, controlling the clock, limiting turnovers and trusting on his "D" to win. At that time we had a decent lead and could afford that. I think we need to be able throw the ball effectively to prevail. I'm sure LK will take the reins of Burke should he have to start him but I still think we need to throw successfully to run effectively. It should be a good one.

Safe travels to the Wesley faithful.

bashdad, no reason to debate everything you said, but I will take the point of Murray running for 150 yards on.  Not going to research it because I don't think I have to, but if he does he will be the first one this year.  I am well aware of how good the O line is for Mount and all that and I am also aware of how good you think Wabash was.  In the end we will get to compare after Saturday.  The more Mount runs the ball the better Wesley's chances are if they can limit the runs to short ones.  Wesley's weakness is the secondary, so I Kehres decides that his Qb's are not ready to throw much, nothing against Murray, but one thing I know for sure is that he is no Cecil Shorts.

As I like to say.....numbers never lie and only liers use numbers. :o

In regards to Murray running for 150 yds in a game...when he does Mount has never lost. ;D How's that for a stat!
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Wesleydad -- After your clarification, I did research Wesley's season.

Max against your defense this year was Salisbury: 226 yards total.  Then MHB with 194.  These were the only TEAMS to exceed 150.  Highest individual was 86 on 5 carries for SAL.

Of all those teams, only MHB had a runner in Murray's class (Darius Wilson, 20 for 73).

On the other extreme, I should really exclude the Husson and Apprentice games.   ???

May want to include Josh Hill from Linfield in this.

Hey Mount Union fans, give me a wave while I am there.  I will be the older guy with a heavy play-off beard and a worn Wesley cap occupying the tiny camera in the camera box.  I promise not to give you the finger.   ;D
