I agree with Raider68 - you and yours are to be congratulated on doing the ultimate in having your children get an education from a private 4 year institution.  I didn't see anyone whining here, at least I don't think so as we're all "in the same boat" with you.  Although my wife and I didn't have 3 like you and yours do, we had two going at the same time just three years ago (our last graduated 2 years ago) and we are still paying off those educations, but...are getting near the end of that.  So as you alluded to in your post, there is "a light at the end of the tunnel" (oops, there I go using some of those old cliches like some of us do over on the MIAA board ::) ;D :D :)).  Anyway, while we all know that we could have saved a ton of $ (and perhaps some headaches and stress as well) if all our kids had decided to go to a much less expensive state college or university, I'm sure we (you, Raider68, wised3fan and all our other colleagues here) all agree that in the end, the small college experience for our kids was well worth it for everyone involved.  At least that is how my wife and I feel about it and I'd do it all over again in looking/reflecting back.  Anyway, again congrats to you and yours and "stay the course" as you have! :)

I posted this on the WIAC board yesterday asking my friends for help but thought I'd bring it over here as well. I know there are probably many on here who hate anything Cheeseland but figured it was worth the risk and potential lost karma.   ;) ;D

Thank you.  I wouldn't have it any other way.  Seems like every qtr or semester 2 or even all 3 are making the deans list and I know they wil be well prepared for the world (or at least as prepared as anyone can be).

Easily one of the four best Super Bowls I've ever seen.

I guess the offseason is now officially on, unless you really want to get into arena ball.  It's too bad there isn't some juicy story about whether or not a team would keep a franchise player to keep the network bobbleheads talking.

Think VCR.  When Whitewater and Mount play on my VCR Mount always wins.  8-)

Similarly, Mount Union almost always wins on my VCR, but on my DVR, UW-Whitewater wins.

Coaching Update:

I will not be the HC at my high school.  In fact, our administration, in their infinite wisdom, never even acknowledged the applications of myself or the other internal candidate (perhaps we should classify ourselves as non-candidates).  I was told I'd get a chance to speak when they did a second round of interviews but that hasn't happened either.  Instead, I got an email, along with every other employee on our campus, this morning saying the new coach would be introduced at a board meeting tonight and that a name would be released tomorrow morning.

I started teaching after two years of coaching but I'm so disappointed in the "leadership" at my school for their lack of professionalism and courtesy that I may not coach at all.  I have been told how much they want me to be a part of the staff regardless of the HC hire but my pride is having a hard time letting them get away with their decision and assumption that I'll just move on.

Sorry to rant.  It's a slow and disappointing day.

RC,

Hang in there and don't let them off easy. Are there other potential HC assignments that you are aware? This administration like so many lacks basic professionalism, IMHO! ::)

Sorry to hear this RC.  Go after a job elsewhere, in the meantime stick with your current job.  Make the SOBs pay you every cent you can ring out of them.  If you decide to leave education for another field, be sure to resign the day before school starts.

Unfortunately, this seems to occur more often than not these days. Don't give them the satisfaction of knowing they made you leave. This happened to my daughter last year. She decided to not let them win and made sure she said hello, good-bye and always had a smile on her face, even though she would have liked to tell them where to go. As soon as another high school (in a larger class) found out what happened, they offered her an assistant's job at their school. She is still looking for another teaching job, but in these times there is not much out there. Good luck to you in your job search, something better will come along.
