Game notes for the Franklin game are up including the 2 deep.  Always fun to see if any freshmen crack the 2 deep.  Looks like 3 on D.  DE Tom Lally, SS Alex Kochoff and LB Hank Spencer.  Lally was a stud at Ed's.  Not familiar with the other 2 guys.

As expected, seniors Seaman, Lattimore and Simon listed as starters in the backfield.  Oddly no Chris Denton at WR?  He's listed as the punt returner, but not at WR.  I find it hard to believe if he's healthy he's not in there at WR w/ Collins and Moore.

Blair Skilliter has indeed moved to D and is starting at CB.  Prendergast listed as the backup RB.

Game Notes

Franklin listed 13 Positions (5 OL, QB, FB, TB, TE, 2 WR, 2 SE) on their Offensive Depth Chart.  I guess they're going all out with their Spread Offense this year!  ;)

So that's where BSN gets its All-American team lineup ideas from!

There's a new rule that non-conference opponents get a couple extra players on offense against the Raiders ;D

Did Franklin hire Pam Ward in their Sports Information Department?

ANYONE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF THE 2012 TOP 25 FAN POLL:
Please send me a PM with your ballot. I'd like to get a preseason poll up by Thursday night.

During the season ballots shall be due by Tuesdays so I can get them up Tuesday night.

Remember, this is just fun and we aren't part of the BCS Formula... yet ;D
When posted where can we find this poll?

Dr. Acula

For anyone with STO (which I assume is most people) here are the DIII games I saw on their broadcast schedule.  I only listed the first showing as most games are replayed more than once.

9/15  11:00pm  BW/JCU
9/16  5:00am  MUC/Musky
9/22  11:30pm  Oberlin/Chicago
9/29  11:30pm  MUC/ONU
10/6  8:00pm  JCU/Etta
10/13  7:00pm  BW/Wilm
10/13  10:00pm  MUC/Cap
10/20  11:00pm  JCU/ONU
10/27  7:00pm  MUC/Berg
10/28  5:00am  BW/Etta

I would assume the MUC games at BW and JCU in November may be aired as well, but the schedule only goes through October now.

It will be in the Fan Poll thread over in the General Football board.

don't know if anyone has been over to Mount's campus lately, but here is a story about the stadium renovations

I was debating going to Bernlohr instead of Franklin if the weather sucks Sat. so I read through Cap's info over lunch today.  I'm a little concerned about them this year.  They went 5-5 the last 2 years and they have basically no proven skill guys back at all including QB.  And their D wasn't great (I believe it said they gave up 37 or more 4 times) and lost its best player in Spiker at LB.

Any Cap guys hear anything out of Bexley?  Hopefully they have some young guys ready to step up and they can give Witt a run.

Dr. Acula,

It looks like Cap will have another 5-5 year, and IMHO, they will not handle Witt, so if you don't mind driving, go to Franklin. The football atmosphere is very good, so I am told. GO RAIDERS!

The new Mount Union Stadium renovations look great.  My only question is why the "offset" i.e. unbalanced design of the tower with the arch entrance?  Nonetheless, it looks very neat and I am also glad they are keeping the old historic covered stands portion of the stadium- it is a nice balance yet keeping a historical atmosphere along with the modern upgrades.

Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend.  Are you going to the Mount Union game?

Thanks, Doc ... I'm a long way from the OAC and need to set up the DVR before my daughter sets it up to record all those freakin' Runway shows.

Ladies & Gentlemen ... a little earlier raggin' because of the Friday games ... get those picks in!

And Chess4Me ... I realize you won this last year, but you don't need to give the rest of us an advantage ... you neglected to pick the Cap-Witt game.

Did I remind everyone to get those picks in?   ;)

The Tower/Arch is the main Entrance to the Field from the East Side of the stadium.  Used to be where Mount Union entered the field, but I think they come in from the NE corner now.
