It will always. Be in the back of my mind what if he was the QB when he was here?Shorts could throw that ball

It would have been great to have him at QB, but he might not be where he is today had he not been moved to WR.

I agree, he was much more of a weapon at WR (that no one could cover)

Really what killed us in the last 3 Stag games was loose footballs
Why does it seem too rain there most games?

joelmama

It rains on the other side of the field too.

I think the only rainy game was last year. In the others, there was snow on the ground, but I don't remember it actually snowing (or raining) during game time.

2007 was a miserable, cold, rainy night.

Not an excuse.  Just a statement.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

No, I distinctly remember that whenever White Water had the ball it was sunny and dry, but whenever Mount had the ball there was snow or freezing rain.  Also the field seemed to tilt and Mount always had to go uphill.  (Which they would have been accustomed to if the old grass field were still in Mount Union Stadium.) :'(

Yup...you're right. 2007 was bad. So two of the seven games were in bad conditions.

c'mon Warhawk, throw us a bone.......we're digging for excuses.  It can't simply be that WW had the better team(s)  ;)

Let's try this one we've been beat up at QB and O line before the last 3 Stag games

Very true...but UWW didn't have their starting QB in the 2010 season either. Or a healthy RB in 2011.

:)

If we make it to Stag with healthy O line QB and back field it will be the first time since 08 win

Quick thoughts on the non-UMU games....

Etta @ Cap:  Etta was surprisingly competitive with CWRU and the Pios threw it around.  They ended up losing 26-23, but they definitely didn't embarrass themselves.  Meanwhile Cap struggled with Witt at home.  It seems they have a major question mark at QB and the D was porous.  And that was against a Witt offense with an unproven QB and replacing a ton of talent overall.  This might be a dog fight in Bexley (and that's not good for the state of affairs at Cap).

Berg @ ONU:  A lot of eyes on this one.  Both teams have a lot to prove.  Berg wants to assert themselves early in the season and establish themselves as a playoff caliber team (and send a message to the "old guard" in the OAC).  ONU needs to prove that the opening loss at NC Wesleyan was just a hiccup and not a sign of things to come this season.  I think I'm going to head up to Ada for this one.

Ott @ Wilm:  Evidently Coach Doup graduated magna cum laude from the Tress School of Quotes with his "I think we are walking into a hornet's nest" quote.  There's respectful, there's Tress and there's calling Wilm a hornet's nest.  With Ott putting up 15 points against Gallaudet I'm not sure how exciting this game will be.  Obviously Wilm is not good so Ott should win pretty easily.  But the key for the Cards is to get the offense going and, specifically, get Kingcade going.  If you're a new QB the Wilm game needs to be a confidence builder.  Having Fairchild back at WR should help him.

BW @ JCU:  The headliner this week for sure.  Obviously it's a rivalry game, but JCU's opener added some additional intrigue.  To me it moved the game from "it's a rivalry, it'll be pretty close" to "Wow, if Myers is as good as he looked week 1 this is going to be interesting."  I'm excited to see Myers air it out.  I'm also excited to see if JCU can stop the run because BW is going to try to pound it.  The more JCU forces BW to throw the more I like their chances.

Is it Saturday yet?

Done, so done. Sad, but grateful that AJ emerged from a great 4 varsity seasons  at Mount relatively healthy (apart from a rubber shoulder and somewhat detachable arm), has a job with benefits, and still dates the kindest, most talented, smartest, funniest, most darling head cheerleader in MUC history (AJ's Dad, eat your heart out!) When I heard Kosar being interviewed about concussions last winter, I got over feeling selfishly wistful for more.  What great friends/teammates he was privileged to play with.  What great support from coaches who recognized his promise and work ethic, intelligence and self-effacing, team-player attitude. What a blast for his parents to cheer our hearts out at 75 games over 4+1 years.

The dad is looking forward to games without angst. This poster looks forward to saying what
I observe without worrying about appearing hopelessly biased in favor of my favorite player.

Now Nick Driskill can move up to first place. ;)

I'm also eager for reports on Trey Fairchild's senior season, dad!

Stay well, play well. See you in Alliance and in Salem-- rain, snow, sleet or shine.

I really wish I could be in Ada for this one.. my Bachelor Party is tomorrow and can't attend the game this year.  Two great coaches that I respect greatly.  I will have to rely on RC for updates -- from Arizona.
