Motorman -- sorry. Didn't mean to stifle you thoughts. Just being the voice of the poll.

No problem Pat, just didn't have much other ammunition after you pointed out the record of the teams Berg had beaten. Was amazed by the ATN column notes about the computer rankings for the D3 teams. Mount at 34th in the Sport Theory rankings (Berg is 63rd)and 76th (Berg is 80th) in the Atomic Football rankings? They reflect the similarity of the Berg and Mount schedules at this point of the season. They are the 2 lowest strength of schedules of the remaining unbeaten teams. I did have my tongue in cheek when I pointed that out, like I said I knew of the Mount history and was pointing out the dichotomy of holding the schedule against Berg. Thought Berg would get the benefit of the doubt over Otterbein when you looked at last year's teams, Berg at 8-2 and Ott at 3-7.

Pat Coleman

True -- in Otterbein's defense, though, they did change coaches.

Wonder why the board is so quiet with a big OAC game this week? :-\

I think I am probably the last Berg poster. and I am really much more a baseball guy. ...

An interesting note, Berg's senior kicker, Danny Kilger, came from the baseball team. He didn't play football his first 2 years. He was brought to try out by another Berg baseball player who has been playing a solid DB this year, Justin Suddeth. Kilger was a standout high school soccer player who might have gotten recruited by some bigger schools, but he wanted to play baseball.

This reminds me of another "Danny" Dan Stultz, OSU place kicker, and school record holder for longest FG @ 55 yards and 3rd in all-time points scored. Son of good friends and a sister UM pastor, Dan was sorely disappointed when a new church assignment for his mom took him to Orrville, where they didn't have soccer. Someone in the new neighborhood watching him practice encouraged him to try out for football. And the rest, as they say....

Another in a long history of when the "worst thing possible" happens...

We had a foreign exchange student from Spain when I was a senior in HS 25yrs ago. We didn't have soccer and he stayed with a family that had all football players - so he showed up to watch practice. Coach saw him kicking on the sideline and brought him out. He kicked 3 FG from the 20 that had plenty of distance. Coach backed him up to the 30 - no problem. Coach backed him up to the 40 - no problem. He was in jeans and tennis shoes. Coach gave him a uniform and we thought 'sweet - get us close and we got points' (we had never had a kicker before). Problem was come game night he didn't like the noise and all the people so he wouldn't go in!! If you are reading this Jose Quilano from Barcelona - thanks! We would have made the state playoffs! We lost 2 games by 1 and 1 by 2!! But I am over that by now  ;D! Oh well - Go Raiders!

No soccer or relocation to Orrville?   ::)   Good memory regarding the Stultz saga = +k for still having one.  ;)

Bad exchange on a hand off between Burke and Lattimore leads to a fumble.  Cap takes over in UMU territory and proceeds to toss a pick 6.  Isaiah Scott 84 yd int return.  7-0.

And as I type that Burke to Collins 57 yd TD.  14-0.

Dr. Acula

Burke turns nothing into something....40 yd TD run on 3rd and 10.  21-0.

bleedpurple

Nice start for Mount Union. Looks like they have a real shot in this one.

Dr. Acula

This is just sad already.  Burke to Collins from 63 yds out, Scott with his 2nd pick 6 (40 yds).  38-0 in the 2nd.

Cartel Brooks scores from the 3...7-0 Berg.

Kehresma

51-0, 1:28 left in the half

Dr. Acula

Namdar 28 yd TD to Moore.  Lattimore 62 yd TD run.  52-0 still in the 2nd.  The 1310 guys are rightfully questioning the effort from Cap's D.  This is BAD.

Mees to Hasse 28 yd TD.  Berg now up 14-0 in the 2nd.

mr_mom

I can't believe MUC has met my spread in THE FIRST HALF!  [with Cap's help, of course!]
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Is too late to change my picks for the week :o? Is there a protest method for pick-ems? I mean if the other team (CAP) fails to even show for the game then it really should not count against me! Right?

After 22 quarters of football Mount Union has outscored opponents 326-7. I hope this does not hurt them come BW and then Berg or the playoffs. Quick question: what is the Mount record for most consecutive shutouts? Most in a season?
