Whitewater goes down to Oshkosh

28-13.  Oshkosh is for real this year.  Get ready for a possible battle of the D's.  I'd match ours up with anybody.

Congratulations Wilmington!

Congrats to LK for his 324th victory and passing the other legend, "Bear" Bryant on the all-time victory list!

Congratulations to Coach LK for passing Bear Bryant.  What he has accomplished is inconceivable.  I know a lot of people have been a part of this phenomenal run.  Congrats to LK and everyone involved.  ;)

Bleed purp, you are, and always have been, a class act.
+k for your consistent generosity of spirit and sportsmanship.

nice defense for sure.  when do they start really playing the season? ;)  on a serious note, congrats to LK for passing the bear.  is the OAC really down this year offensively?  I know how good Mount is, but 6 shutouts in a row, WOW.

reality check

Followed the JCU-ONU game on live stats and decided to tune into the radio broadcast for the final drive.  ONU got all the way down to the JCU 4 but was intercepted on the final play in the end zone preserving a 28-23 win for the Blue Streaks.

As a former WONB'er it pains me to say that the ONU broadcast was a tough one to listen to.  The call on the final play went something along the lines of "Tate Humphrey is sacked...and throws the ball into the end zone.  It's intercepted.  And JCU rushes the field to congratulate that player."  Not exactly stellar play-by-play.

The first time I ever did a sports broadcast at ONU, I remember telling my broadcast partner, "You know, not everything in volleyball is a spike."  That came after his first call of the game was, "Spike by Schrader, spike by Stover, and then spiked over by Anderson".

Anyways, ONU won every aspect of this game except for the one that counts.  Humphrey threw for over 300 yards and had another 82 on the ground.  ONU ran 93 plays to JCU's 58 but that wasn't enough.  Sad results for ONU in spite of finding a little offense.

Mount's D is very good, better than last year's defense.  Plus we opened with the bottom half of the OAC which generated the first 5 shutouts.  Today's game was aided by Otterbein's starting QB Kincade and All-Everything WR Fairchild both being out with injuries from last week.   Not that they'd have made a difference in the game's outcome, but the QB was their leading rusher and Fairchild is probably the best WR in the conference, so they could have easily affected the shutout.  Otterbein as a team has no running game (averaging only 2.6 yds/carry) and without Kincade and Fairchild making plays, they have nothing left.

FYI, Otterbein drove deep into Mount to open the game, but thru an INT on a tipped pass.  That was the only scoring threat all day.  Over half of their total yardage came on that one drive.  Rest of the game was pretty ugly.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Congrats again to Coach Kehres on passing The Bear and very much in sight of Pop Warner. Also in maintaining the highest winning % status as welL
Great call on the game today HScoach and Ric, even when the to PA system had a tendency to bury your calls, your perspectives are refreshing when i'm unable to attend.
387-7 ...wow getting scary :o

Did anyone get a chance to watch the MHB vs HS game on the stream from MHB?  I watched the second half of that game and listened to the MHB announcers.  Quite a game. They played in 85 degrees with full sun.
