thx HScoach.  just hard to believe that someone doesnt score with the backups in the game.  totally makes sense about today and I think someone had mentioned earlier in the week that if they didnt score on the berg they wouldnt score on mount.

watched the end of the JCU/ONU game, pretty good one.  ONU should have won it but nice stops by JCU at the goal line.

Congrats to Matt Campbell and his Toledo Rockets.  Upset the [RANKED] Cincinnati Bearcats tonight without scoring an offensive touchdown!  :o

congrats to Matt Campbell on a big win for the Rockets over ranked Cincinnati!

Kept watching the MHB / Hardin Simmons scoreboard, it sure seemed like it had to be a good game!

Wow Denton gets another one. That kid is incredible. (-23) yards on previous PR and then bang! Still a sloppy Mount game by my account...but 48-0 will work.

Curious to why you thought it was such a sloppy game?

Congrats to LK for his 324th victory and passing the other legend, "Bear" Bryant on the all-time victory list!

Big congratulations to Coach K- what an amazing career.

I was at the Berg-Musky game, the Berg offense was very sluggish. Looked like Musky was going to make sure Brooks didn't beat them and Berg struggled throwing into the wind. If not for long TD run in the 3rd quarter, Brooks wouldn't have had 100 yards in the game. Both teams couldn't get out of their own way in a scoreless first quarter. Mees threw a pick 6 on the first play of the 2nd quarter. Defense had some trouble stopping the QB on the option. All in all, I hope it was just a case of looking ahead to next week because if they play like that next week it won't be much of a game.

Also want to congratulate Wilmington on stopping their streak and continuing the Etta Express on their runaway downhill plunge.

Just got done watching the JCU-ONU replay on STO. Big defensive stands by JCU salvaged the game. Stopped ONU at the goal line on 4th and goal early in the fourth quarter then stopped a pass from the 4 yard line as time expired. Especially ironic considering ONU converted 3rd downs with ease the rest of the game without regard to how long they had to go.

Congrats again to Coach Kehres on passing The Bear and very much in sight of Pop Warner. Also in maintaining the highest winning % status as welL
Great call on the game today HScoach and Ric, even when the to PA system had a tendency to bury your calls, your perspectives are refreshing when i'm unable to attend.
387-7 ...wow getting scary :o

And that was with the crowd mic unplugged and the windows shut.

Otterbein's PA system completely ruins the best pressbox in the OAC.  The setting is beautiful, the radio booths are isolated from each other and the site lines are great.  But the volume of the PA is just crazy which makes it the worst place to broadcast from.  Makes me wish for the old, open, almost falling down pressbox at Marietta.

Congrats to Mt. Union and coach LK on setting another NCAA record of 6 consecutive shutouts.  Thats really something, just amazing.

ONU almost did.  Hit a 79 yard pass from their own 10(+/-) with under a minute left versus the 3rd defense but the kid got caught from behind around the Mount 10.  Then the defense slammed the door 4 plays straight to keep the shut out.

Capital last week got inside the Mount 10 against the 2nd D with seconds to play and then missed a 26 yard chip shot FG at the end.  What was hilarious was both the Cap and Mount fans booing when the FG unit ran onto the field.  What's really dumb about the FG was Cap had timeouts but chose to rush the FG kicker onto the field, I guess to practice that game situation, but they never really got set properly and the kick was missed badly.   If you're that bent on scoring some kind of points, call the stinking timeout and get everybody set.

Capital also took the opening drive of the game deep into Mount territory but threw a pick 6 at the Mount 14 yard line on a little out-route in the flats.

Their have been chances for the opponents to score, Mount has either made the play to stop them or the other team has simply boned it.

One big difference between Mount and most of D3 is their depth.  The 2nd unit's are not that much behind the starters.  The only team Mount has played this season that I don't think the 2nd units could beat is Franklin.  Wilma and Etta would have been crushed by the 2nd teamers.  ONU, Cap and Otterbein would have been competitive games, but Mount's 2nd team offense was still much better than the opponent's starting O.  And the defenses probably would have been even.

I couldn't help but laugh when you guys were about to give the other OAC scores and joked that there was no need since we certainly heard the PA guy just do it.

A hearty round of congrats after yesterdays games. First and foremost - congrats to LK and passing Bear Bryant. Impressive is an understatement. Congrats to the Raider D on a 6th consecutive sutout. Congrats to the Quakers of Wilmington for getting in the win column. Congrats to just about every team not named Mount Union for killing me in pick-ems. Why Wilma, Musky, JCU and all the rest hate me I will never know, but I am convinced it is a conspiracy. Finally, congrats to the Titans of Osh-Kosh for ending the UWW streak. Now I can say that UWW is "56 games away from immortality" - cuz they were getting scary close! To anyone I forgot - congrats to you as well for whatever you did or didn't do.

Now to the Berg - great season so far, big game this week. I think it will be close early - but I think the Raiders are too fast, too deep, and too good (what do you expect I am a Raider fan and have been watching the past 20 years!). However - Mount NEEDS a punch in the mouth. Mount needs to be tested - they need to play with a sense of urgency and purpose. That only happens when a team takes the field and doesn't collapse and/or crap down their leg. Mount needs a serious test from Berg - JCU and BW in order to make the playoff run and bring home #11. Is a win against Berg, BW and JCU a foregone conclusion? No. And I am not saying it is. But Mount needs to be tested and we can all agree that when you are outscoring opponents 387-7 with 6 straight shutouts (go away Gregg Easterhack!!) - you are not getting tested! Roll Raiders!

OAC Pick-Em results are posted.

Congratulations to FCGrizzliesGrad for scoring 12 of 17 in a week where many players struggled.

Now that UWW has 2 defeats does this mean their playoff streak is over too?  Any thoughts.  I did watch that game and Osh made some Mount type throws and  catches that were huge.  Their def. plays as a team.  I was impressed.

It's amazing but i thought UMU tied it not set a new one?
I watched the otterbein streaming video..... random thought on OTT announcers    for "it's not an excuse but ott is banged up"  well if it wasnt an excuse they sure brought it up often enough. and the refs certainly robbed UMU of the endzone interception. and as far as Umu offense/fefense playing sloppy,"not ddominating" was exact quote i think? which ott guys brought up? stats show otherwise. Ok, a lotta penalty yards and there WERE 3 punts and it wasnt a 23/25 passing completion rate, 2 ints and a sack allowed. anytime you roll up over 500 yds off give up less than 100yds on defense that's a good day"s work in my book. It did seem a "tiny" bit off to start  but so far this group has spoiled us. I didnt think a lot of points were left on the field and boy that team could not run the ball. But for a 1 loss team ott got knocked around pretty good

Was not able to see or listen to the Raider game, but everyone pretty well covered all the details. I agree with desertraider on the Heidelberg game, it could be close for awhile, but I also see the Raiders being able to pull away as the game wears on. This year's team has the consistency to win the conference and really do well in the playoffs. Coach Kehres deserves all the praise along with his staff in developing the talent for the right positions that has provided the Raiders with dominance on defense, offense and special teams. :)
