By the way, my first hack, little to no research, off the cuff prediction:

MUC: 21
UWW: 17

"On the OAC schedule issue:

I know they readjust the schedules every couple of years.  I get moving around the dates, etc.

What I never understood was why they couldn't move dates without messing with the "Home-Away" rotation.

Undoubtedly, since Cap goes to Alliance again next year they will host someone they hosted this year (I don't know who, I haven't checked yet).  Likewise MUC will travel somplace next year that they travelled to this year.

What is the point?  Seems like a lot of work for not much in the way of results.

Not to mention it is really unfair."

We also played at Northern this year. We get Wimington and Heidelburg again at home next year. 06 Will be really tough with Mount, Northern and John Carrol away.

2004 schedule had MUC away at Capital, ONU and BW. We did get JCU home that year, but we had ONU and BW back to back.

OAC Schedule makers must be schmokin' some of that wacky weed.

I cant remember if its Saturday or Sunday that I have to pick up a friend from the airport, but if it's Sunday I am seriously consideringa  Stagg Bowl trip.  I believe Salem is only about 3 or so hours from me.  Hoepfully I can pick him up on Sunday.

Believe it or not, B-W looks to have the most favorable schedule in 2006.  I don't know who they play as their non-conference game but they get Mount Union, Ohio Northern, Capital and John Carroll all at home on the on the green parking lot.  Their toughest road opponent looks like Otterbein.  That being said though, their final four games of the season are vs. MUC, ONU, @ OTT and vs. CAP.  Know what that means?  6-0 turns into 6-4 real quick and the new streak of mediocrity begins.

OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

I feel a good deal more confident after studying the Tale of the Tape on Ric's site. If defense rules the day and I have every reason to think it will, then make room for Number Eight. If offense rules, it's anybody's game.

I hope you guys do realize that all the talk of the Stagg bolw having been played two weeks ago IS NOT coming from Warhawk fans and that most of us if not all of us expect a very tough physical game.  Can't wait to see it.

I think it will be lower scoing, 30-7 or 24-7 or something like that.  Rowan is pretty good defensively.

mtfan -- haven't heard from you since Saturday -- how'd you like my above prediction for you last week? ;)

How about my email to you and OU #25 with the Raiders giving 14?  Turned out to be 12, not too shabby.

hscoach,

Too bad you weren't feeling too well, was hoping to meet you Friday at BW3.

All,

It was a very good game.  Rowan had a shot and the defense played well.  I thought the Profs needed to force or capitalize on more Raider mistakes, in order to win.  The Raider defense played extremely well, and the offense made few mistakes and got the job done.

Good luck this Saturday.  I promised my Mount brunch mates that I'd root for the Raiders if Rowan lost.  Should be a good one.

I just talked to the Salem Civic Center ticket office.  If you definitely want on the Mount side, you are better off making the trip to the campus to get your tickets.  The lady informed me that the college has 90% of the tickets on the Mount side.

Ah well....who wants to work on Monday anyway.  I am off to make the drive to Alliance (from North Canton).

Anyway.....FYI.

Hey everyone,
Congrats to the OAC on a great showing this year (as usual) and Mounts umpteenth trip to the Stagg.  What a tradition to OAC has.  As a CCIW fan, we have been trying to get past you guys for as long as I have been a fan (since 1990 or so)

All championships are great.  To be the only team left standing is the goal of every team starting in August.  Mount has won many championships with different personnel.  However, if Mount does win this week, do you think that it might be one of the most satisfying considering some of the "doubts" that seemed to exist this year?

matblake

Just wanted to say congrats to Mount Union for making it to The Stagg Bowl.  Here's looking to a great game that is safe for both teams and their fans.

matblake:

I think that if MUC wins on Saturday that it will be maybe not "satisfying" wins, but more of a "lets go out and prove it to our doubters" win cause there is a lot more of them (doubters) this year now that MUC has lost 1 game.  MUC has not lost two games in a season since 1994 (i believe).  These guys want to prove to everyone that MUC is still the top of the crop in DIII football.  Plus its been a long time since we last won it all (lol, j\k).  2002 seemed like an eterinity.

GO RAIDERS!!!!

seventiesraider

There was some talk in the postgame press conference last Saturday about team members remembering what it felt like to walk off the field after lossing to MHB and not wanting to experience that feeling again. That's the kind of history that is motivating this Raider Squad. They have the talent, they have the coaching and they have the motivation.
