Translates well.  I think we could have a really good game.  I am not predicting a close game but I am almost always wrong too.

Mount may give up more than 17 but the point total won't exceed 24 for the game.  Here's something scary to consider...Mount has not had to put the gas pedal down once this season.  I think they might do that this weekend.  I'm expecting 50+ from UMU with a winning margin of +30.  Mount Union is going to go HARD this weekend.

I'll take some of what you're smoking.

I think this is going to be a game much like the Stagg against Bridgewater. Last team with the ball wins.

Ahem.   Hey Ric!  You owe me dinner. ;D

You get a B+ for effort. What I recall you saying was, "If Mount wins by two touchdowns I'll buy you dinner in Salem."  If you're going to use the logic that recovering a fumble on the game's final play constitutes having the ball last then I can use the logic that the Raiders won by two touchdowns. Where are we eating?

Wow, watching the replay and reading the board, it looks like Mount survived on pure luck, again!

Ah yes - Tommiegun. The pretender to the throne that tried to rise above humble beginnings to seize the throne only to be beaten down by the real champion. And now let's see how irony translates in Minnesota. Yah don't ya know.

To RadierPlaybyplay,  With all the problems with getting the post game press conference, why not tape it and then play it back.  The continuous saying how sorry it is that the tech. problems make it go in and out. Trust me it is out.    Play all your commercials then get the tape to you guys and let it run.  Then have someone tape the Mount press conf. while you are playing the opp. remarks.  This has been going on too long.  Get it right or drop the press conf.  This idea can work.  Thanks.  Go RADIERS!!!

You are correct - it is shameless! Kidding - great piece. I have always respected Coach Gagliardi and the Johnnies program. I don't know much about the Tommies but will be pouring through the data in the next few days. +k to you and good luck to the Johnnies in the future.

BTW: If you lose the reference to the 2003 Stagg the piece would be perfect and earn you +k every day for a year! ;D

After past 2 seasons, we have to cling to something - and the 2003 Stagg is it!

Congratulations to Mount Union on a great win Saturday. The Purple Raiders showed the grit, determination, composure and poise that characterize all true champions. What UMU has accomplished through the years speaks for itself.  Mount U is to DIII football what the UCLA Bruins were to NCAA Basketball during the Wooden era. I hope you add one more Walnut & Bronze to your already well stocked trophy case.

I am nothing but proud of my alma mater. UMHB played hard and left it all on the field. Win, lose or draw, I am a CRUsader, forever.

Up with the Purple!

If you guys are having any trouble grinding out the last few hours on this Monday, take 3 minutes and watch the highlights from Saturday. Instant goosebumps and all sorts of adrenaline are pumping through my veins. The blocked punt and reaction by players/fans is classic! http://youtu.be/Ikbwy0AaScs

sfury:  well done, thanks from Mount Union fans everywhere.

So who all is coming down for the big game? HScoach?  skunk? skunks_sidekick?  Theaprof? Ric? 70sRaider & Kevin? Kehresma? Raiderpa? PurpleReign?  I am beginning to bake the brownies in about 1/2 hour.  You know the drill--some for each team playing the game and then some for the Stone Station tailgate before the game.  I'll be leaving for Salem tomorrow around lunchtime.  I've got tickets for the Gagliardi banquet, the banquet with the teams on Thursday and the game on  Friday evening, Press box side, 50 yard line on the concourse.  I can't do stairs anymore. Getting old and decrepit.  Now that my #1 team didn't make it to Salem this year and my #2 team didn't either, I need to decide whom to cheer for.  I think I'm going to choose a table of players at the Gagliardi banquet and sit with them.  You can't tell which team is which at that venue like you can at the Championship banquet.  I'll ask which team they play for and voila, I'll have a team for this year.  I think it's the only fair way to decide.  This is one of my favorite events of the year, my Christmas present to myself.  It's supposed to be sunny (yippee) toward the end of the week!!  For those who came during the snowy year, that was soooooooo difficult!  Again thanks to the MU fans who got me to the field!  I want to say it was Raiderpa, but I'm probably mistaken.  It was a nice 4 wheel drive machine, that I do remember. Hope to see many of you Friday or before.  Gee---another purple Stagg, who would have thunk it????  TEE HEE!!!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

I was watching the replay last night before a final exam with a few students who showed up early and several were wondering what the punter was thinking on the block. It looked like he actually could have gotten it off AND maybe even got a roughing instead of trying the aussie style. Oh well. Glad we will never know.  I have to give a few shoutouts: first to Charles Dieuseul with a very impressive performance, second to Nick Driskill and again to Mr. Dieuseul for bringing the lumber all night long! Wow they had some big hits. Last - but not least - Blair Skilliter! How in the HE!! he hung on to the ball after that hit I will never know. I am amazed he was able to get up - but I am sure he is still sore. Great highlights.
