I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Kmic's numbers are indeed great, but don't forget Chuck Moore's playoff yards are not in his final totals, while Kmic gets to count em. Grossly unfair, IMO, and so stats are skewed even though Kmic is so far out there in front..

Be sure to check out a program in week one this year. Mount Union's season stats will be reflecting regular and post season, going back to the first playoff game in 1986. Lots of work by the SID Dept. to get this done! Chuck Moore will be pleased.

Lenny was nice enough to put them up in the archives already.  Very cool.  The Sports Info Dept never stops grinding to make things better!

Sounds like Charles Dieuseul will be joining the Mount Union coaching staff this year, according to Jeffrey Zupanic at the Alliance Review.

I checked out the web site and Charles is there as a new coach along with several other first timers. Brett Ekkens the Rimmington award winning center in 2011 for the offensive line. Also Joel Cockley returns...he's still around?...he was coaching at Alliance High School when I was at Mount ;D. It looks like Vince can bring the good mix of veteran and young coaches together.

Impressive career completion percentages for Micheli (74.1) and Rocco (70.9)!
12-0 = 13

Ric

I was wrong. In my hast I said Mount's first playoff season was 1986. We all know that is incorrect. I am sorry. I'll try not to let it happen again.  ::)

I also noticed they have posted the W & J scrimage for this year. Aug 29 at 3:30 at Mount. Be there or be square! 8-)

Dr Acula,

Thanks for the link! Good to see the stats reflect post-season for Chuck Moore and others.

I was messing around looking at the archives.  Borchert's career stats are just mind blowing.  No one ever expects those to be broken obviously.  Same with Kmic.  But under the radar is Adam Marino.  4704 receiving yds and 52 TD's for his career?  If you assume a stud WR starts for 3 yrs. that means averaging 1568 yds and 17 TD per season!  That's a great season, let alone doing it 3 times.

Marino wasn't under the radar for me.  He was dominant.

So true.   Marino and Bubonics were the best route runners I've ever seen.   They both we uncoverable.   Didn't have Garcon or Shorts straight line speed, but were complete studs and had better hands.

Pre Season All American List Posted:

Interesting that Germany Woods is listed 1st team at RB even though he hasn't played a down at Mount yet.   Not saying he isn't capable of that, just surprised he was given that accolade without any stats from last year to rely on.   If Mount can find a #1 receiver this fall, the offense is going to be loaded!

Even more curious is that the two 1st team RB's are Mike Hallett recruits to Heidelberg.   Both Brooks and Woods in the same backfield would look a lot like Chuck Moore and Dan Pugh sharing the carries.

How about Brooks and Lacey in the same backfield... Should be an exciting year!  ;)

I like Heidelberg at 14, could turn into a possible top 10 Clash of the OAC Titans on Nov. 2nd! A big showdown In Tiffin... where no one will be sittin'... and could this be the year... the scoreboard shows Heidelberg winnin'?

YaHoooo! Go Berg!

Ok. Berg has earned the right to have the "Heidi" tag taken off - but they have not earned the right to be considered a TITAN, OAC or otherwise. I am sorry if this rubs Berg fans, or any fans, the wrong way. I understand you are excited (and rightfully so) about the future. But for now, the OAC has "A TITAN". The TITAN holds a 24 game winning streak on the Berg (and almost everyone else - let the ONU posters start chiming in), holds 43-13 series edge, and the last time they did not win the OAC outright - Bergs class of  freshman had not yet been born - 21 straight. For the time being it must still be viewed as "David vs. Goliath and his 800 pound Gorilla". I will grant the Berg is on the way up and have a bright future - but the recent historical scoreboard has way to many "61, 63, 58 to 0, 10, 14" to warrant TITAN status. Maybe "titan"

Marino was a beast. However - we did a thing on here a while back ranking Mount's QBs. I had Gary Smeck at like 3 - but very few others mentioned him. When I look at the stats in the link I see a couple names that are under the radar - Rocco (season - I was staggered), and Smeck (10,720 - 66.5%, his numbers are right there with Ballard who is on Mount's Rushmore). However - Borchert and Kmic are untouchable. Can you imagine how much more ridiculous those numbers would be if they played all 4 qtrs during the season?
