BTW-If your from Whitewater, please do not waste your time reading the previously mentioned Terry Pluto article. It's about TRADITION and EXCELLENCE, which has nothing to do with football LOL

The arogance of many Mount Union fans never ceases to amaze me.

Arrogance:  that species of pride which consists in exorbitant claims of rank, dignity, estimation, or power

Sorry Voice, that was kind of a private shot back at an on going conversation on the WIAC board which I promised to stay off of till after the game.

Roanoke/Salem is currently under an Ice Storm warning till about 8:00 PM. Looks like indoor practices today. Still holding to the forcast of 40 for Saturday. I'd still bring those Carhardt's and stocking caps.

Sorry to you college types and non-Ohio High School folks who have to wrap up the semester by Friday. I still have three days of school next week and two full weeks after the 1st. I do remember having a Thursday PM final and a project due by 3:00 PM on Friday before 2001 Stagg Bowl, back in the day when Chuck and I were Seniors ;D Of course, I was a senior by virtue of my age.

Remember When?

Mount Union won the first National Championship and I rushed home from Salem that night to catch Jim Ballard on Sportscenter say "Da, Da, Da...Da, Da, Da"

After a long day at the Hood, he STILL says that!  (But he's trying to say something else).   ;D

It never ceases to amaze me... why would someone come on this board and be bothered by what is written enough to respond. I don't like a lot of what Linfield and Whitewater were saying earlier in the week but I just stopped going to those boards and I certainly didn't post anything about it there.

As for the black jerseys I don't even know what year Mount got them, I'd have to think about it.  Maybe you can share that with us voice since you know.  You sound like a third grader, Mommy make Jimmy give it back I had it first.  For crying out loud who the heck cares? Why take things so personal?

Furthermore, I don't even like the black jerseys and wish they'd burn them.  I like Whitewater's a little more because they have numbers on the shoulder but I think purple numbers on black jerseys looks bad and I don't care for either.

And frankly voice if you want to talk about arrogance just go through the west region board from Saturday through Monday.  For crying out loud you haven't won anything yet but by reading what the posters have to say we might as well save our time and not even go to Salem.

Since you're here lets talk numbers.  Why are you're special teams numbers very unimpressive?  Please tell us what is so impressive about Jacobs.  After all his numbers are not.  You would have to go back a long way to find numbers like that for a starting QB at Mount Union?  How can he win conference offensive player of the year?  To me your RB should have won it, Jacobs can't be the offensive MVP of your team can he?  50% completion percentage in the playoffs is bad.  I don't think Whitewater can win without forcing a bunch of turnovers.  Just my opinion we shall see.  I know they're a great team and deserve to be there but so does Mount.  And I think Mount's last two playoff games were against better defenses than they will see Saturday.  Not saying Whitewaters isn't good, it is very good, I just will be surprised if they are as good as the last two I've see that's all.

So if you want to talk football lets talk, if you want to whine about arrogance save it, and you can have the black jerseys please!

Also, while I'm on a roll. When UWW played Mount at Whitewater in 2002, the Warhawks wore their black jersey's with purple and white numbers.  It led to a series of negative posts from Mount fans claiming WW copied MUC with uniforms identical to the Purple Raiders

Just to set the record straight, WW had those uniforms a full year ahead of MUC.

As long as we are setting the record straight, it appears that Mount Union wore the Black/Purple back in 1996:

Ric,

First, thanks for the awesome website.

Second, I am glad I am not the only one (as others have said) that has the same thoughts.

Enjoy the weekend.  Hope to run into you.  I will make it a point to introduce myself.

HSCoach,

Actually it was Pat Coleman that first brought the Justin Beaver potential all-time rushing record up, not the WW fans.

Actually, it was WW fans who first brought it up, asking, "is this true?" and I confirmed it. It's on the WIAC board.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Yep. Figured an unbiased confirmation wouldn't hurt.
