We lost you again, HSCoach.  Back to WRMU.
You're back.  Just in time for the sack call!

Big Ted Rosalva gets another sack - pass break-up in secondary - Franklin 4th and 23 at their own 22! Mount ball at their own 40. Need another score.

To the kid on WRMU - you are wrong!!!! I do want a 50 point blow-out in the opening game! My heart does not like these types of games until playoffs!

Sorry Desert, I'm with the kid.  I'd rather get the gut-check now, before the OAC season.  And the stress makes our heart muscle stronger, right?  ::)

Heck of a game... disappointing to come up short but Grizzlies far exceeded my expectations. Now Mount needs to go on a 342-0 run like last season ;)

I would love to hear from anyone who was at the game! Great game Franklin - they never quit and almost pulled it out. We have seen alot of team go down 3 scores, give up, and get pasted by 60. The Griz are not one of them.

No - the stress needs to "eased" in. Maybe a 30-17 in week one would be better.

Small but Slow

Tough start for the new regime. Anyone else recognize the name of the side judge on the stat page?

Dr. Acula

That was exciting. Franklin is good, but man oh man did the Raiders make some costly mistakes.  Can't have those against the next playoff caliber team.  Thankfully we have Burke and he makes plays. That 31 yd scramble on the go ahead drive was huge.

Let's see ... Quentin's father would be too old to run up and down the field.

Mount all-OAC running back from mid-80s?

Shark

Just got back from the game and have a few quick observations.

To the idiot in section 3 who yelled "bring back Larry" in the 3rd quarter.....now would be a good time to turn in your season tickets.

Congrats to Vince on win #1 and also to Franklin for a great effort. If Mount doesn't fumble on the 2 and use two number "2's" on the blocked punt TD, this could have been a rout. Also, one play, the 2nd half kick return really changed the entire game.

The running game looked terrible. The "O" line struggled to create and maintain holes and Woods looked very slow to me coming off the ball. Despite Minch's 2 fumbles he may have wrestled the starting TB job away. Getting less than 3 yards a carry will not cut it especially on bad weather days when it's much harder to pass.

Vince was in a no win situation. He had 5 returning starters (only 1 on offense), a new offensive coordinator and had to follow in the shoes of the one of the greatest coaches in college football history. With the lack of returning starters and facing a top 20 team in your 1st game, I expected them to struggle. Thing may have come a bit too easy in the 1st 20 minutes or so of the game.

Clearly, as expected the running game will need to improve and that's going to start with the "O" line but I fully expect this team to substantially improve as the season goes on.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Wow !!!  Mount had 3 fumbles lost      2 sacks     1 interception     w/o burke had 86 yds rushing for 2.77 ypc.   HOWEVER with  their backs against the wall they did not forget one thing to do, come back and win the game.  That my friends is the most important thing to not lose.  The off. scored and the def. stopped them cold.  now two weeks to get the mistakes down, way down.  A win is a win by any means will will take it.

At least it forces the students to stay in their seats instead of going back to their dorms to party study at half-time.

Burke was responsible for 80% of their offense ... that has got to change!

Well you were all correct - Otterbein is no Mount Union.  It was refreshing to play against another team in the OAC at long last!  Good luck the rest of the way everyone.  Nice comeback win Mount.

Hello Football Fans!

Holy guacamole!  Talk about "A Tale Of Two Halves!"

1.  Burke is the shiftiest (in a GOOD way) QB I have ever seen.  He should have been sacked another five times.
2.  Germany Woods.......FIND YOUR CAJONES SON!  Quit running like a little scat back afraid to get hit.
3.  Minnich......umm...HELLO......HANG ON TO THE FOOTBALL SON!
4.  Hats off to Franklin for making one HECK of a comeback.  I said at half-time that they shouldn't even have been a top 30
team, and boy did they prove me wrong.  They played with heart in the second half.
5.  Congrats to VK for his first win as a head coach.  The good news is...he has many "coachable moments" to cover in the next
     two weeks.
6.  I won't mention his name or number, but a certain DB needs to really work on his spacing/coverage skills/ball awareness.
I noticed he wasn't in there at the end of the game.

A win is a win is a win....so that is the good news.  Mount will need to get much better to continue their dominance in the OAC.

That's all I got......
