How is Boise wearing blue at home any different than fellow MWC school Colorado State wearing forest green unis at home on their grass?

Boise can wear blue at home, just not the blue jerseys on blue pants with blue helmets.

And the only difference I can think of is that green grass and/or green colored turf is the natural color of grass, while blue turf is a gimmick used by a bush league program passing itself off as a BCS contender (because they beat Oklahoma one time over five years ago) that got smoked by Washington two weeks ago...not that I have strong opinions about Boise State.

Your weekly -- and highly alliterative -- friendly Friday follow-up ... "remember to get your picks in."

And don't forget there is a single Friday game in this week's OAC Pick-Em.  7pm start (EDT).

Mount Union article in the NYT - http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/13/sports/ncaafootball/mount-union-paints-town-purple.html?pagewanted=1&_r=0

My favorite quote: "Larry's the man on campus," said Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts, who played for Mount Union from 2007 to 2010. "You'd think he's the president of the school."

^^^ I'm sure Dr. Giese is pleased to read that.  ;D

Anyone know what Nate Kmic is doing nowadays?  I searched the intraweb and saw a vague reference in a chat room that he might be returning to coach at Delta HS, but could not find any confirmation.

I heard last weekend that he is working over near Delta selling steel, or some such?

Not sure about the coaching thing though......

mr_mom

Is he still playing football for that team in Helsinki?

Just happened to be searching for that special weekend of duel games and I found a real special setup.

Sept 28 ...Linfield is coming to Case Western for a game at 12:00.  Great chance to see one of the elite western teams in our own back yard. Coupled with a Raider game Saturday night at 7:00 pm! A D3 football junkies dream day. Count me in. So close and what a great opportunity to see the the "Cats" in action, even if it's not in Alliance as we would like to see. ;D

Anybody interested in getting together for this one, shout it out. ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

The odds are bad, so I'll take you off-line.

Great article on Mount in NYTimes. I love LKs golf cart. While I don't have one of those I did recover a 1967 Schwinn tandem that was rusted solid and re-did it all in Purple, Black and White with Mount Union decals. Maybe if I win a few national titles I can move up to a golf cart!

It was a nice article, it would have been a great article if they had a picture of the golf cart.  Does anyone have a pic they can post of it or a link to it.  Would love to see it.  Never saw a golf cart with a 57 chevy hood, I have seen good ol boy redneck golf carts with lift kits and mud tires.

I am going to look for the cart on campus Monday. How do you upload an image? I have tried the attachment option and resized the jpg to 466kb (says it is a 500kb max) but get an error message as not writeable.

I watched the whole game on the web.. Ineffectiveness necessitated the change in QBs for Cap. The real issue is they don't have the FB dive figured out yet and it was tough going without it. That said, I think they found their QB in the freshman #12.

I'm not 100% sure that they didn't plan to rotate QBs, or at least work in more than one.

And I'm not sure i understand what you mean about the FB dive?  Not saying you are wrong, just not sure i know what you mean by "figure out".  Figure out how?  Figure out when?

Cap is young and they are breaking in a new system with a bunch of kids recruited to play in a spread.  Give them time to learn & adapt.  They'll get it right.

Unfortunately they didn't get to try out their new system on a patsy.  TM is a good team and they have a good program.  I expect them to win the PAC and return to the playoffs this year.

Figure out the FB dive meaning getting the blocking down on it/knowing when to give it to the FB.

I have no doubt they'll learn to run the offense effectively.

Congratulations to Jaypeter for taking this week's OAC Pick-Em.  It also have moved him into the overall lead in this early part of the season.

Save travels on your move.  I'll make sure there are no Friday games this week.
