No ONU highlights to post this week?

Well, 15 years of having a message board and there's always a new way for people to flame out. In this case, it's ... looks like about three moderator reports and five or six PMs bugging me about one post. Apparently I'm supposed to be at my computer 24/7.

I don't think there was a Stagg Bowl in 1972.  First was in 1973

pt

Well, yes and no.  The national champion Stagg Bowl began in 1973.  From 1969 thru 1972 there were two regional championships: the Knute Rockne Bowl for the east and the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl for the west.

Here's a little more about that:

Is there any info on why Samford vacated the 1970 Stagg Bowl?  A quick Google search doesn't turn up much, and now my interest is piqued.
From the Washington PA Observer Reporter, Samford played ineligible players.

Thank you!

And I missed all the excitement again!

Any Raider (or other OAC) fans going to Case to see Linfield tomorrow? I plan to be up there in time to get some pregame beverage and snacks.  ;D Cat fans I have some tickets for the Raider game in the evening if you want to go. ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Sort of surprised that a little fun caused theberg40 to run away.  Sorry buddy.  I was just trying to make a creative impression but I apologize publicly for offending you.  I wouldn't want to alter your perception of me.

On a related note, Saintsfan, I guess that year-plus where you kept my coaching headshot as your d3 profile picture, I should have been much more upset with you.

A loaded Linfield against a crappy Case team?   No thanks.   I've seen enough Mount/Wilma games over the years that I know how that game will look.  UGLY.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I thought it was a very creative impression.

I hope creative impression becomes a running joke on this board.  Can we make that happen, gang?
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

Yeah, see ... I didn't think what you did was that big a deal, even though it was in contrary to the letter of the TOS.

Saintsfan is in violation of the TOS with 90% of his daily activities.

I will be there, but probably till the half. My Italian GF wants to give me the tour of Little Italy and dinner before we're off to Alliance. Sorry Rscl70 I'd rather have real Italian than Polinori's.

HScoach,

What are your thoughts on the changes on the O line for game 2 and again for Marietta? Do you
see any progress? Based upon some comments I have read, it appears the Raiders have to
consider the type of game plan changes at least for now! :-\

Need to see how they look on Saturday.   Very interested in seeing real progress against a team that gave up 350+ on the ground to Capital.

Quick question, HSCoach. Interested in others' thoughts as well, I just know HSCoach coached the O-Line.  What are you going to watch for to measure progress tomorrow? Do you watch for technique? Results? Consistency? I am in a similar position tomorrow. UW-W plays an inferior opponent and I am most interested in seeing the development of the young offensive line.

raiderguy,

I'm actually on a plane right now headed to Cleveland.  Our flight out of Vegas was delayed so we're not getting in till late.  Gig Harbor Cat and I are planning on headed to the Mount Union game tomorrow night so I'll take your offer up on those tix.  I've always wanted to check out the Division III title town so we're both looking forward to it.
