You mean 1 first down (on their second play) and 37 yards on 37 plays for Ott?  Yup!

Yeah, that was an absolute butt kicking.    Mount is finally getting it together just in time.    Gonna be a fun end to the season.

Though I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Mount Union Football, I don't remember a line like that, even during some of those runs of 5-7 consecutive shutouts...even against Wilmington or Marietta.  Curious to know how it stacks up against some of the most dominant defensive games Mount has played (but too lazy to bother looking it up!).

Both statements are 100% true.   The competition gets ramped up big time for both teams.

Mount Union football player found not guilty of assault

By STEPHANIE UJHELYIsujhelyi@the-review.com Published: October 26, 2013 3:00AM

An Alliance Municipal Court magistrate found a former University of Mount Union football player not guilty of assaulting a female student and obstructing official business after finding there was reasonable doubt.

In her decision released Thursday afternoon, Jean Madden cited that she wasn't "firmly convinced" of the truth behind the charges filed against Roman Namdar, a backup quarterback for the Purple Raiders who was accused of sucker-punching the woman, who allegedly intervened in a verbal dispute that threatened to turn violent. Madden questioned whether patrolman John Capper, who yanked Namdar out of his car after he didn't exit the vehicle quick enough, was justified in filing an obstruction count. Citing the lack of a warrant or catching an alleged perpetrator in the act of actually committing the crime, Madden ruled that the victim's written statement alone was not enough to establish reasonable grounds for the arrest.

"The officers conducted no investigation other than the (victim's) statement and that of (her roommate), who did not see the offense being committed," the magistrate wrote in her decision, adding approximately eight hours later was when the defendant was seen by an officer and arrested without a warrant. "Suspicion and good faith are not sufficient to justify a warrantless arrest in this instance," especially since the victim gave different versions of the incident.

Namdar's defense attorney, Jeff Jakmides, wasn't surprised when he learned of the decision, saying that he was confident after the testimony. He called it a strike for justice. It is unknown if prosecutors will file an objection to Madden's ruling within 14 days, before the case will be forwarded to a court judge for final judgment.
Want to leave your comments?         What a waste of time for this player.  with 8 games to go, let's get him back on the field.  Why couldn't this have been done sooner?

Wearing #3, Roman was dressed and on the side-line yesterday.  Welcome back!!

Sadly, I don't have the stats for the 1997 team which had 5 shut-outs and gave up an average of 8 points a game (including playoffs) but even they would be hard pressed to match the 2007 team.

This is how yesterday's game stacked up against the best from 2002 and 2004-2013:
