SaintsFAN and Ypsi...congrats on the new ones on their way.  If you think waiting yesterday was tough, just wait for that last month or so when you're that much closer.  I was grateful my son came early just so we didn't have wait anymore!

Ah, 1994.   Remember it well.   My daughter was just born, I still had hair and it was the last time Mount didn't make it to at least the national semi-finals.

I played against their 1996 team.  We had about 16 sophomores starting and put it on us, 52-3.

I do NOT, however, remember HScoach ever having hair.


Big day for us. Going to the doctor to find out the sex of baby SaintsFAN. We're excited.

Any truth to the rumor that it's going to be a doggy?

LOL - no. We are having a girl. Little Cora Grace already has her daddy wrapped around her finger. If she looks anything like her mom, I'm going to need some help fending off the boys!

Congrats SF on the pending new arrival. I know most guys want a boy - but I have three (yes 3!) girls and told my wife that if we have another it must be a girl. Just don't think I would know where to start if it was a boy! Regardless - healthy is all that matters. Congrats.


On THEE Mount - I was joking with a few players in class yesterday that my hope was Mount could recover from the halftime meal & nap more quickly so as to not let WJ back in the game like Franklin, Heidi, JCU. This one should be over at halftime - but the third quarter has been interesting in a few games this year. BTW: there was talk about which Mount team this one reminds people of (at least I read that somewhere in the last few pages) - for me it is the Zac Bruney teams. Solid QB, good team - but no one else that can really take it over. Not comparing Burke to Bruney/Burghardt - Burke wins that hands down - but this team reminds me of that one. RB by committee, decent WR core, solid defense - but none were really spectacular. The difference is that this team now has an emerging takeover/go to RB (Mitchell) and the WR core has a go to (Meacham/Nicholls). Oh well - my thoughts.

To JCU - time to roll! It's been a LOOOOOOONG time since you have hosted a playoff game so represent the OAC and shoot for the Mount rematch. I am hoping you don't suffer the "post Mount" hangover like Heidi did.

To everybody else: an upset of UWW, Linfield, Franklin and UMHB would be nice  but good luck to all. God I love the playoffs!!! Just the fact that it is settled on the field is awesome.

Would love to listen to Ric's call of the game but the audio is terrible. Got the volume all the way up on everything and can barely hear it. Gonna look to see if I can find the "kids" call - not as good but always LOUD.

Can't say I enjoy hearing words like "lazily" and "nonchalantly" describe how one of our guys fields a punt in 30 mph winds.  Luckily the D got the ball right back, but you don't like to give up all that field position.

Got Mark and Ric. So far the pass D is having problems - or I guess WJ is having success passing the ball. Got lucky with the roughing call on the Mount punt. I am sure Sirianni knows that giving the ball back to Mount like that is not what you want. WJ just scored on a pass from 24 out...14-7 Mount late 1st qtr.

By our lofty standards it seems like they've had a lot of blown coverages in the secondary this year.

Wow - Burke to Wilkinson (according to Ric an amazing catch) from 37 out with 20 seconds left in 1st. Mount 21-7. Wilkinson has 3 receptions 85 yards and 2 TDs in 1st qtr. Where has he been all year?

Scondary is struggling.   Bad.  Really bad.

I think this is beyond "lofty standards". Admittedly we have enjoyed some stellar pass Ds over the years but as I type this WJ get another long pass (48) that leads to a score. Pass D is a concern right now.

No discredit to WJ but I never thought they would score 13.
