Your D3 Theorum is brilliant. Cerainly will be ranked up there with Einstein's. Maybe you should bury the D3 top 25 voters with emails before the final vote or you may miss out on your chance to be #1.

Ding, ding, ding...

I got the Cortland State reference now.  The reference to Cortland State comes about because Cortland State is the team that should have been sitting at home come playoff time allowing someone else (colors: burnt orange and black) to make a trip to the post-season (being shipped to the East).  And given the fact that Cortland State lost in the first-round (albeit a good game), and Mount Union won the title, combined with the fact that the only team that beat Mount Union was one that was left home for a long winter of hibernation (pun), the argument that the wrong team was asked to fill the final slot is strengthened and some will say now more than ever that the NCAA mispicked the final at-large team.

BillyRay, do I win a prize of some sort?

"For those that care (and I do not wish to take anything away from the day for Mount Union):

Hostetler's Record Day

Pretty cool seeing him get carried off the field by his teammates..."
Thanks rc.
Congrats to Wes on his outstanding day. Also I don't think the NCAA could stand for three OAC schools to be in the playoffs ;D. It would have really proved the point that the OAC is the toughest confrence.

Olinemom,

Thanks for taking care of the boys. If we make it next year I am going to roadtrip it with b4uknewit up to Salem for sure. Hopefully we can meet up with you then.
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Phhhhewwwwwww!!!   Just got home from the game.  We watched the final 50 seconds from outside by the car, and hit the road soon after.  What a GREAT GAME!

Seventies - great to meet you and your son.  I have a picture of your son and mine playing on the snow pile.  I will email it to you.

STONE STATION!  You guys rock!  What great food, tailgate, and BROWNIES!  It was great meeting all of you.

Pat Cummings - it was great meeting you, and thanks for all your hard work and great info.  I was able to pick up your broadcast on and off during the day.

For three quarters, that was the best defensive performance I have ever witnessed.  You could just sense that WW could break one at any time.  Beavers has a burst that is incredible.  Stanley is scary fast, but he just doesn't have Garcon's toughness.  If WW had a quarterback that was a bit more consistent, YIKES!   ::)

Jorris stepped up HUGE today.  What a great showing in leading your team.  You earned your manhood stripes today my man.  And Kmic.......well.....the kid just takes a licking and keeps on ticking.  He is unbelievable.

GREAT that we found the tightend today.  It was our bread and butter 2nd, or 3rd and long play.

This team rose to the occasion like they have time and time and time again.

OH, ONE MORE THING.............TRADITION AND EXPERIENCE DO DO DO DO DO DO DO MEEEAAAAANNNN something.   :)  Those who do not learn from history, are bound to repeat it.  Hey WW, ask the other 7 vanquished Mount Stagg foes what they thought.

gordonmann

It's a minor point, but I'd say Cortland acquitted themselves well enough with their performance.  They beat IC who was in the playoffs, too.

Wilkes on the other hand...

Congratulations to the Mount Union Purple Raiders from a Guilford fan in Greensboro, NC.  Watching MUC and UW-W today gave me an idea of how good the best in DIII really are.  Almost drove to Salem today to meet all the "Stone Station" crew from the ODAC room and enjoy the game, but simply couldn't work it in my schedule.   Maybe next year ... :)

D O.C.

One year ago the MUC faithful bristled at
"The King is dead. Long live the King."
Now that means the LINFIELD reign is now over and Mount Union College is the  Division III National Champion. See?

I was forgiven by a few at the time by pulling out the other literary reference to MUC
"The once and future king"
There you are.

Congratulations to the MUC coaching staff for keeping at it all year long.
The team played the game on the field and won it all. Kudos to them.

Just got back from Salem a little bit ago.  That was a tremendous football game.  Both teams played their hearts out but in the end Nate Kmic proved to be too much for the Warhawks.  I'd like to congratulate the UWW on a great season.  They survived the toughest bracket to get to the Stagg Bowl and even when it looked they were down and out they came back, put up a fight and probably put a scare into the Mount faithful, myself included.  A great job by the players and their coach.  However, Mount was still able to bring number eight home and for that I am proud of them.  They went through a lot as well this season with the loss and all the talk of the dynasty being over.  But in the end they proved that they are still Mount Union.  Congratulations Raiders, especially the seniors for going out on top, way to end the season.

The impossible CAN happen and eventually it WILL happen.

heywood220

Congrats Mount Union

If you take out the 3rd quarter this was a really close game on both sides.  I could have a million could, shoulda, woulda things i could say about the game but ill put those to rest.

Going into the game i really didnt hear anything of your WR Garcon!  he had a few great plays today as well as Kmic rushing and i think even more his catches set the tone of the game.

The comeback in the 4th quarter was exciting but it was just to little to late, but it gave me a little hope for a while.

Congrats to Beaver on the rushing record! even though ppl keep saying its in 5 more games thats still alot of yards in a season and you cant take that away.

Heres to next season!!!
Hopefully WW can reverse the outcome  ;D

That was a great game, and Kmic was fun to watch.
