It is my impression he did. As I was watching, I saw a receiver who, although not big, was fast and could cut great. We did not have programs or a sheet with players names and numbers so I don't know for sure. They change the numbers even week to week. My son has had 2 jersey numbers already. After the game, I was more focused on my son than asking about Steven Shorts. I did talk with a Raider named Tahir Prophet for a few minutes while we were waiting for my son to finish up in the locker room. Very nice and polite young man. My son later told me Tahir dubbed his highlight video "The Prophecy". Good player, sense of humor and a gentleman to boot. Mount Union has some great men playing on the JV!

This has always been an issue when it comes to figuring out who is who.  JV used to wear the old varsity gear.  Depending on what color jerseys the JV was wearing they may not have all of the same numbers available so guys switched numbers regularly.  I assume this is still the case today.

Who are they opening with in 2016-2017?  I forget.

PurpleSuit

I don't believe that has been announced yet

Why the defense ain't werkin'?

Dr. Acula

Tomorrow will definitely be an interesting game in Tiffin.  It will give us a much clearer idea of how good both teams are. Berg is hard to gauge so far thanks to blowing out a very bad team and getting blown out by a very good team. Where in between those extremes do they fall?

ONU has scored a good amount of points on two traditionally strong defensive teams (WashU and BW).  A good sign considering Berg is probably worse defensively than both of them. On the flip side they haven't played great defensively against two teams not known for offensive prowess.  Obviously a bad sign considering Berg's offensive firepower.

Time for my weekly shot across the bow ...

Don't forget to get your OAC Pick-Em selections in before Noon tomorrow.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Aaaaand they're off in Tiffin!  61 yd pass to Dye sets up a FG 90 sec in.  Good job by the Bears holding them to a short FG.

Angle converts a 3rd and long with a 22 yd run then tosses a 21 yd TD pass. 7-3 ONU.

Berg answers with an easy TD drive.  10-7 Berg.  As expected, not much D on either side.

ONU fakes a 45 yd FG and fails.  Berg takes over and puts another TD on the board. 17-7 still in the 1st.

I can't update with every score or else that post will be an entire page by itself.  These two just traded TDs again. 24-14 Berg and not a shred of defense yet.  Interestingly Lacey has been in instead of Brooks the last 2 drives.

Brooks took a pretty good shot to his back last week in the JCU game.  Wonder if there are some residual effects.  Berg hasn't played defense since the Reagan administration...why start now?

Dr. Acula

Haha good point, Toph.   The Bears, on the other hand, HAVE played good D in recent memory.  Problem is ONU may be playing less defense than Berg.  It's freaking 38-35 in the 2nd!

p.s.  Brooks is back in. Maybe just a breather.

Dr. Acula

45-35 Berg....at half.  Seriously.  The 2nd qtr was a 28-28 draw.  And that was all offense. No defensive or return TD. No blocked punt for a score.  Just a whole lot of video game offense.

reality check

Over 800 yards of total offense in the first half.  I am only following live stats so I'm not positive but I think they are sending both offenses out against air.

Good thing Vegas had the line set at 115.5.
