Saw QB Evan Shimensky get some action for Mount. Where does he figure into the QB situation if they are moving him back there. That was his position when I went to high school with him.

Good question. I'm not sure of the answer.  Peyakov seems to be the first in to relieve Burke.  Burkes (the freshman) played third at Musky. But then Saturday Namdar took snaps at QB along with Shimensky and Christy.  I can't make out any semblance of a pecking order.  Bottom line is if Burke gets hurt Scott or Namdar is playing QB, IMO.

Given that he's a senior next year, I would assume the coaching staff would probably start a younger player.  If you're going to be inexperienced at QB, wouldn't you rather it be a younger guy who can gain experience and use it for a couple years?

Also, good job JV Raiders going to 4-0 beating JCU yesterday for the 2nd time this year.  Not sure of the score.  Maybe bceagle knows.

Unfortunately, I have not talked to my son since Saturday. He's having phone troubles and I have been working. I will give a heads up on the score when I know.

I'd like to hear how his colon held up for the first few days post-Pizza Hut

We were fine post-Pizza Hut. No issues at all. Seems from the comment you have had a negative experience with them. We like the Blue Fig and the Diner near campus as well. My son likes the Blue Fig because he has had a chance to try Schwarma and liked it (he is a big Avengers movie fan!  ;)

I think that would be true most places, but at Mount, where the standard is a national title every year, I think you play the best guy right now.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

The track record is certainly stacked against seniors starting at QB for the first time.  I can't really think of anyone aside from Rocco.  But if they break camp next year and Namdar, Scott, Shimensky or any other senior is clearly the best QB then that guy is starting.

I haven't seen it posted yet.  It looks like Jasper Collins is getting a shot in the new FXFL league.  He's going to be with the Boston team.  Hopefully he can show that he deserves another NFL shot with a healthy campaign in the FXFL.

Dr. Acula,

From an eligibility basis, Namdar is only a Sophomore if he decides to play the year that he missed. This means his role as a QB
or WR next year will have a huge impact. :)

Good point, 68.  He is a junior academically not eligibility wise.  I forget what Pat said the rule was when the Piloto incident came up in 2012.  I feel like it was based on number of semesters, not on "4 seasons in 5 years".  That would be scary if the OAC has to deal with Namdar at WR for 2 more years after this because he's only going to get better the more he plays there.

Good luck to Jasper too.  If he keeps working he'll get his shot again.  Based on what I saw at WR for the Pats last night he might get shipped over to Foxborough by Halloween.  At worst we know he could play for the Browns!

The preview is up for the Cap game.  Couple of interesting notes from the 2 deep this week (it should be a 3 deep weeks like this):

Williams now listed as the #2 RB behind Mitchell replacing Nemeth there.

Joshua Scott listed as the backup WS this week.  I was wondering what happened to him because I hadn't seen him.  Assumed he was injured.

Jordan Hargrove and Lane Clark make their return to the 2 deep supplanting Friss and Herrington as back ups this week.

After starting at LT against Etta Frank is now listed as the starter at LT this week.  Presutti bumps up from his back up to starter at LG after starting there last week.

I believe the rule is to complete 4 Seasons in 10 Semesters.  Since he was not enrolled at Mount in the Fall of 2013, I am fairly certain he has two years of eligibility left after this one.

Look at us talking about Roman Namdar's potential eligibility for the 2016 football season.  Oh Capital, I remember when this was actually a week we'd be able to talk about football.  Those were fun times.

After a slight delay, the spreads for this week's OAC Pick-Em have been posted.

Let's all pick safely out there!
