PurpleSuit,

You hit it exactly! The Raiders this year are much more aggressive as others including me have stated. Having a full time DC
has contributed greatly and having fresh DL rotating  in the first five games has really helped. Do I think that Heidelberg and JCU
will score points, yes,but this defense will be much tougher for the opponents to run up and down the field against including
potential post season opponents. :)

about Berg, one would have to think that this is the last big game for the Berg seniors and we'll see an inspired performance.  Mees, Brooks and the gang have had great careers, but haven't really won the big game.  For as much as everyone is writing off their season, they still have a chance at the postseason and share of the OAC title.  I don't think that they have enough to beat Mount, or really be that close, but I wouldn't be shocked to see a different Berg team on Saturday.  More than likely we'll see the same old Heidelberg.

I agree.  Mount could well blow their doors off, but we shouldn't discount the possibility that the Student Princes, in the last stand for this senior class (currently 29-7 in four years, which is a record that all but the nation's top 10-15 programs would envy), will go out with a bang.  Come on, dudes.  Show up on Saturday.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

I hope Berg pushes Mount a little, but to be honest I just don't see how they're going to slow down the Mount offense on any level.  Mount had their way with the Berg D last year and the 2014 version looks much better.  Berg got shredded by JCU and ONU.  I listened to the ONU game and it was not pretty.  ONU was doing pretty much whatever they wanted on offense.  They had 650 yards of offense!  Angle threw for almost 400 yards and 4 scores.  That doesn't seem like good news if I'm a Berg fan heading to Alliance to watch that same D take on the reigning Gagliardi winner and his obscenely deep WR corps.  I honestly think Mount could score 70+ on them if they chose.

70 points is possible.  Berg doesn't hasn't shown a defense capable of slowing Mount down and their offense probably won't help that either.  While the Berg offense is prolific, it is not a grind it out, 15+ play drive type of offense.   They lose the TOP battle almost 2:1 every game.  The only way the Student Prince's slow down Mount's offense is by keeping them off the field.

Cha Ching for Cecil.  I would love to see him get that kind of deal.  Pierre got it and now it is Cecil's turn.  I suspect Jasper Collins will be in the league next year too so with him and Namdar who I think will get a lot of attention it is truly turing into WR U.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Berg stings Mount with a couple big plays.  They have players.  But you're exactly right, the big play is almost another enemy because their defense is going to be gassed.  They need a UWW style offense to keep Burke & Co. on the sideline for half a quarter.

I still can't get over the fact that ONU had 52 points and 650 yards against them.  That's a ton of offense for a team that did very little against JCU and even less against Mount.

Collins needs a different agent -- he chose Cincinnati and all their talent at WR for his client??!!

The pro to him getting a deal like this: good numbers with terrible QB's

The con: Never ever can stay healthy

Either way I think he'll get a pretty nice 4-year deal somewhere, but I'd be shocked if it is at that number

I've been hearing this too. I originally thought he would be playing QB next year, but not a chance now (unless there are MAJOR concerns as the position).

ExTartanPlayer, this is a great post! And a great point you make about what they have been able to maintain in the last 4 season, also says a lot about Coach Hallett .  I'm not sure if Heidelberg can do it against this Mount team, but it would be nice to see Hallett and the boys add a big time win to their accomplishments.
